just bought my second s17 pro , payed about 150 euro (160 dollar) with one hashboard not hashing ....... well see i now have the stuff needed to repair hashboards and the price of the whole thing still is cheaper than a replacement hashboard they wouldnt make any money with them at this moment if it wasnt for the fact that im not paying a lot for the power needed to run them planning on running them at the low power setting increasing the amoutnt of bitcoin per watt , the two running should come near the hashrate and power consumption of a s19 for a fraction of the purchase cost now i just hope i can get both of them working like they should

Hello Brother! Your tester is too smart to restore a circuit of 65 asics. better use a simple power supply and a regular voltage tester. The power supply can be turned on bypassing the keys. ( "-" to the regular place, and " " to the copper circle on the board. check for 19.5v) And yes! you can safely turn on the 1.8v jumper, - you were scared in vain. The voltage passes directly through the chips. You can safely pass it on ,

Cool thing we have people like the creator of bitaxe. It's opensource and everyone can go and do their own thing. I personally want to make baby S19 miner, so like something similarly shaped, it will probably use a 25mm fan, and be on much smaller PCB, which I want to achieve by using USB-C for PD and programming, design own ESP32 circuit with tiny ceramic antenna instead of using that big off the shelf module, get rid of the oled screen and other optional stuff like power meter. I haven't run HIVE in a while. Prior to the domain shutting down do you see any weak chips in the domain? There are a number of things it could be including a weak LDO. But I'd start with replacing the lowest performing chip in the domain. You might also ask on the Antminer Repair Discord channel. The link is in description.

Some of my earlier videos show me doing the entire process in real time especially the live streams. Since it takes me several minutes for each chip I started compressing that footage. The basic process I follow is: 1. Remove the chip 2. remove the solder on the pads with solder wick and flux (don't press too hard) 3. re-tin the pads with leaded solder (use plenty of flux) 4. install new/recycled chip that has already been tinned. (more flux) Hope that helps.

@@iagmr My apologies, I didn’t phrase my response clearly. I wondered whether the Mokose worked with Hayear software; you confirmed this. I already know that this “Eakins” decal’ed 1080P camera does not work with Hayear software. When I saw “H1600” reported by the camera over USB, I assumed it was “H” for “Hayear”. When it then didn’t show up in the Hayear software (“no camera”) I went crazy looking for some menu item to “connect” to the camera. Eventually I resigned myself to the fact that Hayear software only recognizes their own camera, and “‘H1600” isn’t one of them. Hayear software is the same software used by AmScope (I tried them both, they appear identical), they just change the name. Also, every camera I’ve seen reviewed on KZbin ignores the dozens of adjustments and features available in this Hayear/AmScope software. Is there a camera that responds to *every* feature? If not, it makes one wonder why they would bother to develop and include those features in the app. 🤔 My original camera was an AmScope MD800E, but there are no drivers available for Windows 10. I contacted AmScope, their reply was “it’s too old”. It’s difficult to find good support these days. I probably would be unhappy with its resolution anyway. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Nice walk through! Is there a way that doesn't require the need to replace faulty chips to keep a board functioning? Like modifying the PCB to skip power delivery/hashing to a faulty chip? Or is that not possible. New to the ASIC world and your video have been very informative. Thanks! ✌🏻
@iagmr
@iagmr Жыл бұрын
I'm glad the videos are helping you get up to speed in the world of ASICs. I've tried bypassing a chip on the PCB before, but it doesn't workout too well. Could it be done, possibly. Should it be done [shrug]. Keep in mind, each domain (column) of chips is consuming 1.6V of the 21V on the card. So if you bypass a chip, or a few chips in a domain, you are going to change the resistance for that domain and throw things out of balance. The Stasic Board tester is supposed to have a new feature where it will do chip level testing without having to remove the chip. Couple that with a reliable chip tester if you are using recycled chips and you could definitely reduce the number of chips you replace. Assuming the problem is a bad chip and not something else.
@AprilMayRain

@@iagmr Thank you for the insightful response! The boards definitely must have been running too hot cuz some heatsinks slipped off the chips and some even fell off the board completely. I managed to heatup some of the heatsinks that could slide back over the chips but the ones that fell off are pretty damaged. Bypassing chips now sounds like it's out of the question. @@jannmedia I hear you. My Hayear did not work well at the claimed 4K setting. The image would stall, turn green, or just blank. It didn't matter if I had it connected to the computer via USB or HDMI connected to monitor @ 4k. These problems persisted and Hayear support failed to ever fix them or offer to replace the unit after I tried countless software and firmware updates they suggested. Mokose on the other hand has consistently worked well as a 4K camera whether I'm using it on the microscope, overhead or a macro upclose view. If you run your microscope cam through your computer, the Mokose will work well as it only has a USB output. If on the other hand, you need to go directly to an HDMI monitor, the Mokose camera reviewed in this video will not work as it does not have an HDMI connector. I did finally find a use for the Hayear. It runs OK at 1080p or even 720p. No over heating issues and no image issues. So it's connected to my 3d printer with Octoprint. @@jannmedia I haven't ruled out that I might have gotten a bad Hayear, but since they really weren't interested in swapping it out after we went back and forth for a couple of weeks I don't care. It works at 1080p so it's not a complete loss. Glad the firmware fixed the color issues for you.

Hi there, I do not know of a seller for that tester. I do not recommend anyone purchase the Teamminer ASIC tester as there is no support. If you are from Thailand or speak the language, you can checkout their channel, www.youtube.com/@teamminer6093 Look at the Stasic Tester from @stasictech. They are under active development, offer good documentation and support is handled via Telegram channels in multiple languages. In the future I hope to review one for the channel.
