Look online to find a tatting shuttle for sale. “El encaje de lanzaderas” or “frivolité”.

Hi Marilee Have u tried making this join with a handheld loop ?as done to make larkheadknot. It can be done using ball n shuttle ,no need for 2 shuttles. 😊
@MarileeRockleyАй бұрын
Interesting! I don’t know how to do the technique that you’re describing.
@tasneemsadiqpetiwala5907Ай бұрын
Leavè shuttle thread aside.Pull a loop of ball thread and put yr index finger n thumb in loop n bend away from you as we do in lark head picot join but iñ opposite direction, then pass the shuttle thru both legs and close carefully each leg. I m sure u can easily do it being a seasoned tatter or may discover more better ways😊❤! just clicked !! I guess it can also be applied in making onion ring join🤔 🎉 Hope u got the method. Happy tatting.

Very good video,❤ will try soon Could you please tell how do you store your shuttles Ibroke my shuttles tip with the weight of tightly packed thread
@MarileeRockleyАй бұрын
It sounds like maybe the tips of your shuttles got spread apart by winding too much thread onto the shuttle (so that the thread is sticking out past the edges of the shuttle).

It is the same learning anything new, practice a few minutes each day, and over time you’ll notice improvement.

Thank you for video snd instructions. Will give a try, but clumsy dripping the shuttle so msny times, get the knots to close on running thread, so very frustrated. 😢😮. Sometimes don't think this craft is for me as much as i want to master it. Thanks again. Patricia CAPE TOWN SA

It’s okay, just try a little bit at a time. Sometimes I’ve seen people working at it for too long and then they get frustrated. Short, simple practice sessions are best at first.

How do you estimate how many yards to wind on shuttle if pattern does not say. Thanks in advance.
@MarileeRockley2 ай бұрын
@@badariahferneyhough95 All I can say about estimating the amount of thread needed, is that experience helps but it’s still guesswork. If there are a lot of tatted rings in the design, then probably a good indication to fill the shuttle full. If the design is mostly chains, the thread will mostly be coming from the ball of thread - or shuttle 2.
