Oh, been quite a while since I owned the small one. I briefly had a Microkork but not at the same time. It seems like the Odyssey was more comfortable. I briefly tried to google. I'm sure somewhere there is info if it's the same keyboard. The smaller keyboard actually feels better than the full size keyboard which is pretty cheap feeling.

Hello, Suzuki does have thoatier full sound. However the sound of the Yamaha blends well with other instruments.

@@Hobbes1964 Don't know how you feel about software instruments but GSi is a really close emulation of the Farfisa Compact.

@@phlattgetit been messing around with gsi deluxe ipad app and yea, it is a lot of fun and sounds very good and as close to the farfisa as best as i can tell. i read that the crumar mojo 61 uses the gsi app for the farfisa. do u know if all the parameters of the app are usable on the mojo 61? i see 9 drawbars that function as on/off but i am wondering if the all tone and multi boosters are accessible?

Pretty sure they are. Didn't test it but I imagine they are steel core.

They both are sort of a compromise to each other's weak points. I really prefer the Andes 25 but wish it had more range.

But after all, Suzuki Andes 25F has a completely different sound - it squeaks like a bird, only 2 octave and it is more bulky (not so convenient to hold in your hands when playing)! And yet Yamaha or Suzuki?! It seems to me that the Suzuki build quality is more solid.

@@alexseybekmurzin9565 All true. I think I prefer the flute sound to the reed. Suzuki more solid, in some ways I suppose. I wouldn't worry about traveling with either one. The Yamaha has a stronger carrying case.

My experience is I can get a more delicate sound from the Yamaha. Just barely breathing into gets a sound. The Sukuki takes a little more air to get the reeds to respond.

Probably my playing. They are generally the same volume although the Suzuki has a darker tone that may make it sound quieter.

Thank-you. It's been some time since I tried the Arturia. I agree with you it seems to be lacking. the reface sounds some better than it. Just more fun to play. I'm wondering if they didn't buy him out or some other deal? There may be some copies of copies around though.

@@katemillpointer565 There is a little flat panel behind the volume knob. Press on the switch and it should release that panel and it will slide out a battery holder.

The guitar shop was afraid to try as they didn't want to be responsible for damaging it. I'm going to try tomorrow, having smaller hands. I tried once, but didn't put a lot of time into it. Keep 5 1/3 and 1 1/3 pushed in. Continental didn't have those. However you set 2 2/3,2,1 3/5 and 1 keep them the same length because Vox has all of those on one drawbar. Keep the percussion off and the Leslie off, Use vibrato and not chorus and you have it dialed in pretty close. Keep rocking!

I think its just that the volume is lower and using the tiny little built in speakers is not the best sound. Going stereo into an amp or DAW and It is definitely not a toy!

I love the green tab section. The tone is so sweet but then you can add any flavor of aggression with the knee lever.

The Korg Vox Continental does, or did, I'm not sure if they make it still. The reface sounds all made it into the CK61 and I've had success using its onboard cutoff filter to replicate the knee leveler with a pedal

@@TheWhiteCatIncidentBand I since found that switching the Reface's vibrato off and running it through a vibrato pedal results in a much more authentic sound. Also, I can get much closer to those green tab Farfisa sounds by using the Y mode.

@@phlattgetit also, I a/b tested all the modes against an original Ace Tone Top 5 and found that you can get extremely close to its all-tabs on sound by using the Y mode with the 16 and 8 drawbars fully out and the 4 drawbar about halfway plus the distortion at about 25%.

@@phlattgetit yes, you're absolutely right. I have been doing several experiments and I found that combinations are really few and so frustrating. The only way to combine notes is using two melodicas simultaneously. Honestly I don't get why that acoustic phenomenon happens. I tried same combinations in the accordion or the harmonium and the sounds never hit each other or create a cacophonic resonance. Although these disadvantages, I still love the melodica so much, I already have five melodicas and I reserve time for everyone. Perhaps one day some specialized scientific engineers may find out how to solve that inconvenient, possibly a new material or metal, who knows. I heard Ena Yoshida with a wooden hand made one, she plays beautiful harmonies and sounds really clear. Later I heard the wood made Yamaha and the negative resonance still appears like in the plastic one with just a little difference. The vintage Czechoslovakian Bohema with its individual reeds per key is the unique melodica that respond without any clash but they are very hard to find, only in Europe.

@@oscarcaviglia5640 I think it could have something to do with air pressure changes inside the air chamber from the different sized reeds. Also the larger reeds air-robbing the smaller ones. Maybe developing a melodica where the air comes in at the center of the chamber instead of the low end. Or maybe a design where air comes in evenly at both ends.

Thanks, I wish modern Hohner would take note. I see similar responses om all vintage Hohner vids. Wish they would take a page from the synth makers and do a vintage repro line. Especially the models that have the scimitar shape. They sound the best.
