Grate Storytelling I wanted to hear his story FOREVER, such a cool dude. I really relate to the Cremina story Dennis, I fix them all the time and if I ever make a machine, I want it to survive the test of time and service its owner for years to come. Cheers! -Y

Regarding the Porsche 911 analogy, listening to the enthusiasm of Denis Basaric is infectious, much like the enthusiasm of Ferry Porsche leading his Porsche company to the 911 (ne'e 901) and the enthusiastic drive for technical perfection exhibited by Ferdinand Piech, Ferry's nephew, in pushing for the all-conquering 1970's Porsche 917's. Driving quality and build quality were the exemplars for Porsche, much as build quality and delicious grinds are also now for Kafatek.. The build quality of my MC5 conical grinder and its grinds for my daily espressos is a daily joy much like the pleasures that any 911, especially older, gives or, for that matter, like the pleasures that even an older 356 gives on drives.....like the Olympia Cremina lever mentioned for espressos. Perfection is expensive, durable, not transient, and worth every penny or every pfennig when appreciated daily, and then yearly for decades onward. What a great interview. Thanks, Cheers.

I still have an MC1 that I got from Denis way back in the day, and got to pick up from him in person from his garage shop in Seattle. He took the time to talk to me about his work, give me advice, and give me a sneak peek on some of the things he was thinking about for the future (at the time, that ended up being the MC3). Such a nice guy, deserves all his success.

Love this. I own an MC5 and ready to upgrade to new 6 or MAX 2 (I absolutely don't need this but want it). Now knowing something is coming I'm not sure what to do!
