Things have gone beyond civil rights and become very corrosive. We should have stopped at tolerance instead of pushing for pride. It was cathartic after repression to say “I’m proud of who I am” but in retrospect my sexuality is only a part of who I am and there’s no need or cause for pride in that, especially now that we see how damaging it can be for society to promote sexuality to the status of identity.

They've hitched their bandwagon to us and they don't belong with us. They never did. Gay is gay. Trans is trans. They have set our hard fought movement back at least 50 years with their nonsense, not the least of which is going after the kids. I consider myself a member of the LGB community. We should start a new movement called, "Drop the T."

I came out after Ellen did in the Fall of '97 at the age of 30. I've marched in 2 NY City Pride parades in '98 and the early 2000s. I was also in the drag scene for 12 years. Nowadays I'm afraid to go out to the clubs because of pronouns. I've gone out with Trans Women in the early 2000s as well, but now the movement has gone too Far-Left for me. I now refer to it as the Alphabet Cult. Gays & Lesbians along with Women have been totally erased. I've been erased from my community here in Groton, NY (home of Smith-Corona and 20 minutes outside of Ithaca). I used to be included in Ithaca potlucks with Cornell & Ithaca College workers, but now I'm an afterthought because of my beliefs. I can't get over the new bazillionth form of gender: Seasons. On the other hand, I think I'll refer to myself as 'Summer' because I just can't get enough of it LOL~~~

I'm a 42 year old man living in Brighton. I walk the minefield every day. People who don't identify as Queer or Trans here, are in the minority. Gay men are considered dinosaurs - especially those who have dared to live beyond 40 like me. The Queers for Palestine are protesting most weekends. If I say anything about that, I'm a racist bigot. I just want everybody to get along, but I'm tired of tolerating the intolerant, and told my voice doesn't count. You were one of the first gay people I saw on tv, and have always been somebody I thought of as fearless. I know real life away from the screen is much more complex, but stay strong. To lots of gay men, your voice is important.

Could not agree more. Total homophobia. If you want to sleep your way to the top -- go for it, but don't complain about it later!! God, I've been sexually touched without permission 100s of times. Most of the time I said no and that was the end of it. A few got angry, but that was their problem. No trauma. Sexual assault -- that is a different matter, of course.

My relatively few young gay friends all accept, as a given, that trans men are men and trans women are women. Or at least that's what they say. I'm not convinced they'd have sex with trans men if, as it were, push came to shove. My older gay friends, amongst whom are some who were gay rights activists, are deeply offended by the insistence that if they refuse to have sex with trans men they are transphobic. They see this as just another form of homophobia.
@ScottCapurro111 күн бұрын
Your older friends are correct. Such a demand is absurd and, again, it's heteros telling gay men what they should desire and how they should behave.
@s.tupper415910 күн бұрын
@@ScottCapurro1 Why is this even an issue? Let people have sex with whoever they want (or not) - as long as it is consensual. All of this is just in people's heads and to be perfectly honest if I knew what was in everyone's head I would probably be so turned off I would never have sex again.

At last some common sense in an ocean of absolute twaddle about the best actor on the planet. Whether he is gay or straight saint or sinner an admirable person or an absolute arsehole is none of my, or anybody else's, business. If he behaves inappropriately and they don't like it then leave or smack him in the mouth. Don't wait half a lifetime then try to ruin the guy. I'm pissed about the great performances that I will now never get see because this tripe has ended his career.

Talking sense as usual. I thought all this during the Me Too period, probably the most seductive and alluring moment in history is when soneone like Angeliba Jolie really wants a part in a movie, you cannot buy or otherwise obtain that standard of “putting out”. Any producer that has to hit on actresses is doing something wrong as he will first have to get past the seductresses.

What are your thoughts on Baby Reindeer? Particularly the part where Donny keeps returning to the home of the Producer - even after it had become very apparent what was happening. He says this was the catalyst for him finding out he was Bi.
@ScottCapurro114 күн бұрын
Love it as a dramatic tool. Reveals even more why Donny is such a mess and who creates his own Hell. Makes the final moment of Series 1 even more disturbing when BR receives an offer of a free drink from a bartender and one wonders, is this the sickness continuing? Is Donny now taking on Martha’s ghost, and will that become Season Two?
