All the copyrighted music will be removed. All JP logos will be replaced including any ingen logos. Character names will be changed. I’m worried we’d have to remove things like the visitors center. Part of the letter was vague, alluding to remove all movie locations without exactly saying that. Krenautican is confident that we can leave stuff like that in. It’d be a shame if we had to since you can play in VR. Plus the official game looks awesome, but I don’t know if we’ll be able to explore places like the visitors center before it was destroyed.

Thanks! There’s some more features like how they react to noise but I wanted to save some features for the release and just show the more “impressive tech”. Currently working with more intricate ai trees on pc on the side. Very excited just to get this out finally though. I just hope everyone likes it.

Rexy is touchy. This took me a couple of tries to get through since krenautican has been working the Rex while I work the raptors. There’s a little learning curve with both ai’s, but I do not want to hype it up like I’m Peter Molyneux because this is made in dreams, we are limited and I don’t want to set unrealistic expectations. I just hope everyone isn’t disappointed when it comes out.

I really wish we could do that. It’s a big thorn in my side and one of the limitations of dreams. You can only have one active camera at a time and there’s no ray tracing. It’s possible, sort of. There’d have to be a separate Rex and terrain that only shows through each mirror and that eats up too many resources. One rex takes up a little under 20% of resources. It’s one of the many reasons I’m moving over to pc after this is completed.

Thank you! We really put our hearts into this as fans. Everything was kept true to Universals established timeline and lore. I was really hoping they were going to announce something like this for the anniversary and we all just got boned with a huge nothing burger. It doesn’t make any sense.

The models will remain. Universal can’t copyright animals. The sounds will have to be replaced. I was a sound designer and editor for close to a decade so I’m going to try to get original sounds to be as similar to the ones in the film as I can. The only thing that’s troublesome is the Rex roar since the main sound was a fluke from a baby elephant the team just happened to record that day.

WHAT! They're closing Dreams?!

Yeah, I was pretty upset about the news. Dreams servers aren’t being closed, just severely downsized. It’s more limiting creating new creations, which would only severely affect us if we didn’t get shutdown. This is the main reason I want to move away from Dreams and onto a stable engine for the next project.

This was a super early pitch for the intro of the story, but I couldn’t figure out why Muldoon never made it to the end, then I saw this and had to show it to the team.

This was made with a lot of concentrates. It was meant to be.

Yeah I agree. It is VERY dark, but the lighting hasn’t been finalized. We’ll fix it before everyone gets their hands on it.

The team wants it, but I keep fighting it. This is an fps however that’s not the focus. Survival mechanics and immersion are the focus, it’s just wrapped in an fps.

What kills me is that our #1 rule for the game was that it could not interfere with the canon. It took a year of studying the lore to make sure it fit in.

@funkymotha5507 yea just blows my mind, this happened to me with a project I was in a decade ago.

JPO runs a hell of a lot smoother on ps5 than 4. Uncapped vs 30fps. Plus the vr version will only work on a ps5.

Absolutely. This was a test to see if I could make a dense environment and have it run on old hardware. Today I started making the AI for cat and mouse gameplay. I wanted to use clues including audio to signal to the player there’s danger near by. In the JP novels, what you described happens before some of the attacks and I wanted to do that with this project.

Hahaha, yeah I should’ve been more descriptive in the title. Really an optimization and lighting test. The “map” is large with 200k plants. They’re just thrown in there minus this tiny area I cleaned up a little to look nice.

I really wish we could’ve put it out. The story is so intertwined with the first film that simply reskinning won’t work. I think that’s the most frustrating thing since a key point from universal was that they didn’t want our story to interfere with their vision. My biggest rule when writing the story was “if this doesn’t make sense in context to the first film or any of the sequels, it can’t be in the game.” Part of the letter demanded we remove any locations from the film as well. On top of that, they told krenautican he can’t upload anything related to the game anymore. So even if we finished it ourselves we couldn’t show it. If you’re curious, basically the story would’ve gone this way. The new character you would’ve played as was Muldoons successor to the Kenya zoo he left to work at Jurassic park. The main plot would be you escaping the island and a sub plot would revolve around the raptors. The story started just after the death of the gate keeper in the opening of the first film. Muldoon requests that you come to the island to investigate the problem with the raptors. In the first act you learn that they were recently moved into the raptor pen after Muldoon had found evidence they were moving in and out of their paddock in the park, “raptor valley.” This comes from the novel when Grant is flipping through cctv channels and the line from hammond in the film where he says they haven’t been fully integrated into the park. The first act ends with the power shutting off and the Dino’s escaping and you would’ve been eluded to the fact that something is tracking you. The second act opened with a flash back to hammond and wu in the lab talking about making new versions of the Dino’s, particularly the raptors (from the novel). There also would be some for shadowing in the dialogue about the herrerasaurus which was going to be our main antagonist Dino. They were cloned to be more docile and replace the raptors (from universals lore). You would’ve visited some of the breakout sets from the film , finding clues about the escaping raptors and would have the first real encounter with the herrerasaurus. The second act ends with you discovering that the raptors were going under the paddock fence to escape (from the novel). The third act starts with the realization that there is no saving the park and that you have to find a way to escape. There would’ve been a part where you have to ensure none of the escaped raptors can leave the island (from the novel) and a final battle with the herrerasaurus’s at the docks. There’s a lot more specific points in the story, but that’s a broad outline of how it would’ve went.

The only game I ever actually wanted to play that was JP related was Trespasser and I nevee got to experience it minus KZbin videos. This would have been the best game on Dreams period, and the best JP game....I applaud all the work you guys did, it truly sparked the undying love I still have for this series ever since I was a 4 and watched the film (I'm 22 now.) Sounds exactly like something the president of biosyn would say! s/ We were really excited. Just stripping out the logos and locations wouldn’t work for how the story was written. So we’re moving on the do something completely original.

Thanks! We’re kicking around ideas on exactly what we’re going to do next. But we know we want to do Dino horror survival with an original story. Right now, testing different game engines and exploring workflows.

@@funkymotha5507 That sounds great! I think it would be wise to get your next project off dreams and onto something more viable. And please do a Dino survival game as we could really use a great one. But you do what you feel is right and ill support it :)
