Very inspiring - are you in the US? Obviously, I would think - but most teachers there don't love their jobs as much as you - the system wears them down. What went right for you??

This is so great. I am interested in some more of your ideas (Escape Plan with me). I am just starting to design an escape room for my classroom with reading and math topics, something that I can design for my fifth grade students to do and then have them develop their own for the other 5th grade classes to do. Thank you, Kelly Mahboub

I love The Map to Everywhere series so MUCH, yet nobody in my school even knows it exists. But I still love it. Weird how in Arizona, that state that it kinda takes place in, nobody even knows it exists. I'm in 7th grade, 😊

Things sure have changed since I was a child I can't believe how different the classrooms are nowadays I was born in 1965 so didn't start school till I believe 1970 and things have changed a lot I went to school somewhere between Richmond Hill and Toronto but can't remember the name of the school wished I knew the name I played drums the big drum that is in the parades that sits on the ground when it's not being used or carried the big huge drone then I came to Collingwood 1971 dish and I have been in this area since and I found that after I finished high school is when I saw changes in school I went to a residential school School for the Blind in Brantford Ontario the W Ross MacDonald School Florida Pine when I was 15 16 years old and stayed there till I was 21 I learned a lot and I did here in Collingwood I went to one public school and was kicked out because of my site I was a quiet person so what I wanted to tell all of you teachers as I can't believe how much the schools have changed since when I was a child I can't believe the different things that they have now but most of all I can't believe all the supplies that parents are made to buy for their children and I see in a lot of these videos that there are supplies at the school so it don't make sense to me why parents have to buy everything I think they should be money donated to the schools from each parent so that the supplies are at school then the parent don't have as much to pay out because it's cool and give the students what they need like they did back in my day you are wonderful teachers from what I see so far good luck with all your students as a child

FIRST YEAR TEACHER! THANK YOU SO MUCH! I greatly enjoyed this. I am actually teaching multiple subjects to the same students, so I am using the data based portion of your notebook in their class binder since it applies across the board. And we don't have SMAs here (plus I'm in a private school anyway), but I love the idea of putting that in their binder as a unit reflections on ALL their subjects. At the end of each unit or quarter, they fill out a similar sheet where they define the unit and standards they should have learned, their previous expectation, and their future goals. This was awesome. Thank you! I shall definitely use the book reflection and presentation portion of your notebook in my English specific INB.

Have you resolved your table issue? I had flexible seating last year and honestly the "kneeling" table was by far the most popular seating option. Of course this was kindergarten but some of your more active students who have trouble sitting in a regular chair and you notice actually put their feet under their legs to sit on a chair or even kneel might be much more comfortable that way on the floor as well. Just a thought.
