Are you sure she's a pine Marten? I only question this cause of her size.

The only Pine Marten I ever saw in the wild was in Argyll .Walking on a dirt road I suddenly noticed Pine Marten 5 foot Infront of me Defiantly staring at me saying you shall not pass . I froze wondering what she was going to do ,then from behind her two Kits crossed the road .After looking over her shoulder she followed them. I felt equal parts nervus and privileged as we all whent on our way.

While it may be feral, that looked like a regular house cat.

1:24 to 1:46 trying to be playful but actually assessing best method of attack with that innocent head swaying movement. I think the cat knows it and hunched its back to be ready. I don't think the marten would come out on top.

How nice! I've been feeding a bunch of stone martens for the past 3 years, as soon as it's dusk they run like crazy cross the field and come to have diner in my garden, but I've not tried to "tame" them.

It’s not pine marten it is martes foina or stone marten
@scottishpinemartens84617 ай бұрын
Don't be misled by the lighting. It is a pine marten (Martes martes) with all the differential characteristics including yellow/orange bib. Stone martens do not occur in the UK (at least not in the wild).

I have a European marten that visits our garden at night. So cute and bouncy. I have trail cam videos. I'm in the Alps. Also got a badger, hedgehogs and a fox visiting regularly.

It's a weasel not a marten. Martens have yellow bavette not white as in this case
@scottishpinemartens846111 ай бұрын
Hello Julien. Don't be fooled by the colour temperature of the artificial lighting. The bib is actually creamy yellow - see other marten videos on this channel. A weasel is much smaller and a very different shape.

Hi. I have impression that Cats are a bit confused with Martens. I made video a few days ago. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pGHcn2ifZdB-oc0si=BhcsYTNN4wGPa_iJ

Many people (me included) find that jam and peanut butter work very well. Tesco do strawberry jam at 39 p a bottle. Eggs are much appreciated by some martens, taking them before anything else, but some martens (possibly the younger ones) do not understand the concept of an egg. Honey is also much appreciated. If nothing else is available they can spend half an hour eating peanuts. I have tried dog food but that was a dismal failure. Best of luck next month.

Sorry, but if this is in Scotland and the cat is a european wild cat and not a feral house cat, the Pine marten was wise to back of. The wild cat is very different to your feral house cat!!

I made friends with a deer mouse here in the states... (s)he would come right up and eat almost from my hand. it all was working out great until one night a screech owl came down like a thunderbolt (I felt the ground move a bit like a high-flying baseball had landed), and looked right at me, like- What? and flew off. oh well.
