Later updates have removed the ability to create one by one rooms, unfortunately. You should consider using a two by one room, I think it would still turn out lovely.

I am so sorry, dear, but this was only possible at the time that I built it and I did go onto do a live build showing how to do it. Also I did advise that there would be a chance the glitch would be patched so only those who built it then, have it in their town, later updates no longer allow for this style of building.
