இப்படித்தான் என் தங்கையை நான் வளர்த்தேன். இடைப்பட்ட காலத்தில் என்னை எப்படியெல்லாம் அவமானப்படுத்தியதை (அதாவது என் தங்கை மகள் பூப்பெய்த சமயத்தில் என்னை கடமைகளை செய்ய அனுமதிக்க வில்லை). தாய்மாமனாக என்னை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளவில்லை. என் அம்மா கேட்டுக்கொண்ட பிறகும் கூட மசியவில்லை. இதை நினைத்தே என் அம்மா படுக்கையில் இருந்தே உயிரை விட்டார். அதற்குப்பிறகும் மரியாதை கிடைக்கவில்லை. கணவரை மதித்து அனுசரித்துப்போ என்று நானும் என் அம்மாவும் கூறியதுதான் காரணம். ஆகவே நான் உறவே வேண்டாம் என்று ஒதுங்கி விட்டேன். இந்த பாட்டைக்கேட்கும் போது பழைய நினைவு என்னை வாட்டுகிறது. என்ன செய்வது என்றே தெரிய வில்லை.
