This story is essentially our universe if the Nazi super soldier experiments had actually succeeded (and they certainly tried). Vaut isn’t just an entertainment company, it’s a pharmaceutical company founded by a member of Hitler’s inner circle. Marketing victims of human experimentation as superheros and other entertainment companies is exactly the kind of evil I’d expect from a company with that background. There are real companies that exist today who participated in experiments just as horrible (if not worse) than Vaut. It’s an alternate universe so terrifying that I have no desire to watch the whole show, especially with how graphic the violence is. That sociopathic nuclear Aryan Ubermench gives me nightmares too💀

One of the most disturbing scenes was when Homelander made Deep eat his octopus friend Timothy. Because there was really no reason for it other than to show Deep that he could get anyone to do anything he wanted.

I also had a nightmare of Homelander in which he brutally ended my family leaving only my 8 month old nephew and I. I had just recently finished the 3rd season and just like you said, that night I didn’t watch an episode I just watched some interviews. It’s been a minute since I’ve ever been that scared by a dream. I don’t even feel scared watching the show just sometimes mildly uncomfortable so I don’t know how a Homelander nightmare came to be. 🥲
