Just a quick Technical Update: I know that this video has some sound holes at the beginning of Part 2. I've seen a lot of comments referencing it and I am fully aware. I got a copyright strike (conveniently) right when the video hit a million views at that section. When trying to fix it, KZbin's editing software told me to cut out the audio in those specific sections. I did so thinking I could edit it more efficiently later, but I couldn't and now its a permanent problem. I tried reaching out to KZbin, but they probably won't do anything since all of this happened months ago. I could try to reupload it, but I don't know what that'll do to my channel since this video is pretty much keeping the channel alive. I'll have to consider my options in the near future, but I just wanted to put this out there so everyone is on the same page.

The funniest thing is that right after watching the season 3 finale, I had a dream that Homelander just showed up at the restaurant I was at, but with the magic of dream logic, he instantly transitioned from Homelander to just Antony Starr and ended up being a normal customer at the restaurant. There was 30 seconds of pure terror as he showed up, but that disappeared the second he sat down and started looking at a menu.

I had an honest-to-god nightmare about Homelander once. I had a job where I was forced to interact with him (I think I was basically Ashley). I knew the only way to survive was to keep him happy, but I also knew that he could tell by my heartbeat if I was lying. So I had to find ways to compliment him that were true enough that he wouldn’t pick up on the fact that I was placating him…that’s a good villain, right there

My favorite part of Season 3, and also the most gut-wrenching part, is when we learn Soldier Boy is Homelander's father...and *he would've been more than happy to raise him to take his place.* Homelander went his entire life thinking no one wanted him, or would ever want him. Soldier Boy would have, had he known and been able to be in his life. Yeah, maybe Soldier Boy wouldn't of been the best dad, and Homelander would still be kinda' screwed up, but he would've been *a* dad. Not to mention we saw that Soldier Boy for all his faults isn't nearly as much of an unhinged psycho. Vought violated Soldier Boy, put him on ice, used that material to make a living god, and *then* neglected, emotionally abused and otherwised tormented him to make him their Perfect Supe. Homelander is Superman raised by LexCorp.
@ChellyEV2 жыл бұрын
I think that’s the most messed up part of the season. Soldier Boys whole character was based around getting revenge on his team for going through with a plan to get rid of him and replace him with Homelander when in reality Soldier Boy (like u said) wouldn’t have mind if Homelander replaced him and would’ve wanted that. The entire show is practically cause by that one decision by Vought of getting rid of the family that Homelander needed.
@losthunt90612 жыл бұрын
(Not to mention we saw that Soldier Boy for all his faults isn't nearly as much of an unhinged psycho.) okay okay as you already talk about it, Soldier Boy is just a psychopath, you can accuse him of a pedophile on Gunpowder, he was a really bad man and he was bad for his team, he has no empathy when he kills someone even if it is an innocent person his text (must survive the one who is not a pussy), that is, he shows us what he really is like that he killed the Mother's Milk family and even the Soldier Boy asked which family, you can see that he has already killed a lot of people and that's just because. The case of Homelander when he called him a sheer demeanor, I will tell you honestly if he was raised by the Soldier Boy, it would be just shit and he would be treated just as much as a puss and hit him like Butcher's father. He's not a good Soldier BOy has feelings yes but he's just bad and you could say he's worse than Homelander who had a hard time but he will never forgive his badness anyway. Homelander is my favorite antagonist, and I would say the best created.

Despite the horrifying gut-wrenching feeling I get when Homelander is on screen, I get intensely fascinated by him. His facial expressions/reactions, his acting (within the acting), and everything in-between. For example, when Hughie puffs out his chest as a show of courage and Homelander is amused by this, you can watch his face convey what he’s thinking before he even expresses it verbally. Simply put, Anthony Starr is an amazing actor in this show.

Oh man, his face in episode 4 of season 4, so many emotions going across his face as he was putting the guy in the oven. Antony Starr SERIOUSLY deserves an Emmy for his role as Homelander. He is such a unique character and it's really incredible how he manages to be someone that you don't love, but you also don't hate him either, he is so complex and you actually feel for him sometimes even though he's a complete narcissistic psychopath. Its scary because when you’re a normal human you are powerless, and that powerlessness builds tension, thats why the boys (team) is so good because they have to use their wits against supes 👁👁

the thing i was most terrified of in The Boys was easily Homelander's hearing. I was always terrified that at a moment notice the camera would just pan to him standing behind one of the boys, I did happen a few times but Im surprised they didnt use that gimmick more

The scariest part is the main protagonist is Hughie, the scrawny normal guy that has to forced to fight supes

The main thing that made Homelander Homelander and not Superman is how they were raised, Superman was cared for and was raised by good people while Homelander was made in a lab and is used a product

watching the boys make me understand batman motivation, his paranoia, feel what batman feel, understand what batman did to prevent if superman became bad guy. at same time make me appreciate superman. how he can hold himself despite his power and not just lame superhero.

I also had a dream where Homelander was coming to get me. Wasn't scary, though. It was more entertaining than anything. Here's what happened, copied from my Facebook post of it: . Homelander acting crazy and unhinged, the same way he did at the end of episode 2 of the current season . Massive alien ship landing on (not "at" or "in") some of the Heathrow buildings (think big triangle things from Infinity War - the ones that tried to land on Wakanda) . Mary Jane losing her patience with Peter (Raimi versions) for being so hopeful in the face of bleak circumstances . The existence of a large, well-stocked Asda but with fast escalators and possibly large drops which needed to be carefully navigated Good video, man. You concisely managed to summarise the problem with massive corporations and how it makes Homelander scary! Also, usage of the Persona 5 OST? You're a man of taste and culture!

I had a dream where Homelander and I sat at a round table, and he was just watching me and telling me to drink a glass of milk, like how he told that girl to jump. Like, a normal glass of milk. I think earlier that day I was talking about milk with my friend and that I guess somehow made it into my subconscious.

I think what makes homelander such a great villain is how unpredictable he can be, for example it’s constantly shown throughout the show that people are scared by just him showing up and when he does you don’t know if he’s there to talk or laser a hole through your chest

Amazing video mate. The Boy's for real is one of those series that is talking about the vicious side of fame and mega corp influence, I know that Disney is very much a big one people look at when seeing it, but the factor I feel is more on how dam low Disney can go with their power rather than how much they are. It's the saying goes "Absolute Power Corrupts Absolute" and no doubt there are many skeletons in the closet of megacorps, but everyone I think has come to accept that and it's good to tell the stories of how dastardly people could get so it's good to remind people of it.

When I first watched The Boys, Homelander was my favourite character, he's basically like Superman, but, he's cold-hearted and psychopathic, but after watching season 2, he's too dark and too much, but this series is just about what you shouldn't be doing...as in never meet your heroes, they might be not nice to you

I can’t imagine how primal Butcher must have felt after Homelander “slept” with his wife (not downplaying the trauma his wife went through to say he had worse or anything, just focusing on Butcher because the show focuses on him). My natural instinct to protect the things I care about and if a godly being that could kill me instantly was in the way of that, I would need to rise to a level of hatred that Butcher feels now to even come close to getting revenge. He doesn’t fear Homelander, Homelander should fear him. Especially now that she’s dead and Homelander is brainwashing Ryan.

@@Ojas97 Well. If a mentally unstable psychopath manchild who has the strength to level city blocks and fly at supersonic speed, who will probably slowly kill you in rage due to an inability to take no for an answer, asked you for a bang, would you say no? And if you say yes to save your own life, do you feel you consented?
@FirstnameLastname-zq8oy6 ай бұрын
@@Ojas97 lmfaoo what?? You're allowed to make up your own fan theories about the show, but thats pretty clearly not what the writers intentions were. The show very heavily implies that the sex was not consensual, even IF homelander didnt use physical force, we can definitely conclude that he used threats of violence (either against her and/or her loved ones) and sexual coersion to make Butchers wife sleep with him. There is nothing in the show that indicates Butcher is lying to himself and is in denial about his wife cheating on him. Also, Homelander is a literal murderer who has killed countless people, is it really unbelievable that someone as psychopathic as Homelander, who knows he can get away with anything he wants, has r*ped someone before? Also, if the sex was consensual and butchers wife cheated on him with Homelander, I feel like Homelander would definitely hold that over Butcher's head and use it to taunt and mock Butcher more. Homelander clearly knows that Butcher thinks he r*ped Butcher's wife, but Homelander never says anything to correct Butcher, which doesnt make sense if Homelander actually didnt do it. It just seems like some people who watch the boys have zero media literacy and will assume that homelander sleeping with butchers wife was consensual just because the show doesnt explicitly say by word that it was r*pe.
