Very informative ! Just bought an mk2 in japan....unfortunately living in france where we have 220v....i have to replace the pop up light too...
@RetroWorkshopАй бұрын
In my video I mention a voltage selection switch. This may be worth investigating if your unit can be switched to use 220v. Possibly that option wasn’t fitted to Japanese units though.

As a kid i remember riding around a track in a C5 which was laid out at a hotel in Devon somewhere. I remember being disappointed because i had to pedal because the motor wasn't working for some reason. I've recently bought a C5 which is in amazingly good condition after being dry stored for the last 30+ years. Hope to recommission it very soon with a working motor. I've already watched your brilliant C5 build videos👍

A bit late finding this but I've been contemplating getting this exact pvm so it was very helpful to see such an indepth video. I'd have been interested to see how it performed on HD content too but appreciate if that's not really what you use it for. I have a Panasonic BT-H1490Y which is essentially a JVC. Great picture but a little small. I was hoping to size up to a JVC BM-H2000 but the sale fell through, last time I use FB marketplace! I'm intrigued by this model due to also supporting 480p upto 1080i and therefore being handy for many more consoles but wonder if the 17" is still a little small. I see there's a 19" but they're seemingly rare and outrageously expensive. I'm waffling now but was interested in your opinion on these models, I love the image quality on my Panasonic/JVC BT-H1490Y and I'm very tempted to get one of these, do you think it's a worthwhile upgrade?
@RetroWorkshop2 ай бұрын
Depends on your use case. If you’ve got room for a bigger model go for it. The JVC has an excellent image quality. I’ve seen broadcast TV HD on it, so real pictures rather than games consoles and it looks great.

After seeing this, I think there should be a collective noun for a group of C5s - any suggestions? They're fascinating little vehicles, I have to say.

I think Sam suggested a “pod” of C5’s which seems appropriate.

3 in 1 oils are the wrong type, it's too viscous for the tolerance on the bearing, you have too use really fine electric motor oil otherwise the bearing keeps sticking as the platter is rotating

Why the blinkered prejudice against cyclists? When it's just as prevalent among motorists.I cycle,ride and drive and see it regularly along with blocked box junctions and roundabouts etc. not to mention the numbers of drivers texting,eating,drinking,doing make up,reading,watching TV,internet,KZbin,shaving,on the phone,brushing hair,sorting their kids out etc, Let those without sin..................

I never quite understood why Sir Clive put the steering where it is, it just seems a more traditional steering position on the "Dash" would have been better, perhaps make it more accepted.
