I was told after the sleep study that my apnea was 10 seconds stop and 25 seconds of breathing through the night. I got an Airsense 11. Now I'm using OSCAR, and see that the reality is quite different from what I've been told. They only look at summary data at the hospital, and not graphs. I see that I have CSA (stops of 10 s to 55 s, mostly 15 s to 25 s) in a few periods of CSR (Cheyne-Stokes Respiration) through parts (1.5 h +- 1h) of the night. This is worse the higher the max pressure is. Lowering the pressure to 5 typically give me a mix of events through considerably more of the night, and higher AHI, but it helps me stop my bad aerophagia. I can't get consistently below AHI 15 or 20 or thereabouts, no matter the setting. I will ask for an ASV.

What if I need to go pee in the middle of the night or want water and need to go to the kitchen? Do I keep the monitor working and just got back to bed, or am I supposed to stop it? When the test is to be for three days, would I be using the same monitor; so I just start at night and stop in the morning, then repeat next night, then repeat the third?

How can you clean the F40 QuietAir vent ring? There's a filter there.
@ResMed
@ResMed 7 күн бұрын
Thank you for your question! To clean the F40 QuietAir vent ring, soak the components in warm water with a mild liquid detergent. Ensure there are no air bubbles while soaking, then shake the components vigorously in the water. Hand wash with a soft bristle brush, paying close attention to the vent holes in the QuietAir/Multi-hole vent ring. Thoroughly rinse the components under running water and gently squeeze the fabric parts to remove excess water. Allow everything to air dry out of direct sunlight. For detailed cleaning instructions, you can refer to the user guide here: document.resmed.com/documents/products/mask/airfit-f40/user-guide/638361_airfit-f40_user-guide-eur1-multi.pdf. Thanks for reaching out to us about the care of the heated tubing. It is acceptable to wash the tubing by hand only (including the circuit at the end) with warm water and a mild detergent. As long as you don't wash the tubing in a dishwasher or machine, this alone should not damage it. Of course, for your safety and the safety of the equipment, please be sure the ends of your tubing are completely dry before reconnecting it to your machine or mask. For more information, please refer to your product's user guide.

I can’t figure out how to get the remove the final tube section that fits into the mask. Trying to switch to a different mask, since my unit seems to be broken.
@ResMed
@ResMed 13 күн бұрын
Thank you for reaching out! To remove the final tube section from your AirFit F20 mask, follow these steps: Hold the connector firmly where the tube attaches to the mask. Then, gently twist and pull the connector to detach it from the mask frame. If the connector is stuck, try using a slight rocking motion while pulling. Avoid applying excessive force, as this could damage the parts. If it still doesn’t budge, your connector or mask frame may need replacement. We recommend consulting your mask’s user guide for detailed instructions: document.resmed.com/documents/products/mask/airfit-f20/user-guide/airfit-f20_user-guide_apac_eng.pdf. You can also reach out to your equipment provider for assistance. Let us know if you need further help!

@ResMed
@ResMed 16 күн бұрын
Hi, thanks for reaching out and we're sorry to hear that you are facing various issues with your CPAP mask. The dry mouth could be caused by a few different factors. As for the noise you're hearing from your mask, this could be due to poor fit or high air pressure. You can try reducing the humidity settings on your machine, raising the room temperature, or using a tubing wrap or heated tubing like ResMed ClimateLineAir to help prevent rainout. For more information on rainout, see our blog article here: www.resmed.com/en-us/sleep-apnea/sleep-blog/climatelineair-and-cpap-rainout/. As always, please reach out to your healthcare provider or medical equipment supplier as they would best be able to make some of the necessary adjustments in-person to improve your fit and comfort. Feel free to reach out to them for further guidance.

They are not saying that the air bubbles cause any harm to the mask. The comment about making sure there are no air bubbles is to ensure that the mask and the components are fully submerged in the warm water. If there are air bubbles in the tube or components, then they will not be exposed to the warm soapy water, which will prevent them from being cleaned. If the components have air inside, it would be the same as not placing them in the water.

I read in the operators manual that 86 degrees is the optimal humidity temperature so I'm assuming that the auto feature is set to that temperature? I'm getting dry nose and blow out some blood when blowing my nose in the morning. The manual settings only shows numbers not temperature ranges. What is the manual setting most closely related to the auto setting so I can start my adjustments from there instead of guessing and making my condition worse. I don't want to spend a week to figure this out. Thanks.
@ResMed
@ResMed Ай бұрын
The optimal humidity and temperature settings will change based on a number of factors, including climate and environment. We'd recommend discussing your machine settings with your supplier, who can best address your humidity concerns and assist you in finding a setting that's best for you to start from. We'd also recommend talking with your doctor about the dryness & bleeding you're experiencing. They understand your needs best and may have a few additional suggestions to help you with this. Lastly, we also have an article on our sleep blog that outlines three of the potential causes for dryness and a few tips that you might find helpful: www.resmed.com/en-us/sleep-apnea/sleep-blog/common-cpap-complaint-dry-mouth/

Can I use spring water❓
@ResMed
@ResMed Ай бұрын
As stated in our clinical and user guides, optimal humidifier performance requires distilled water. That’s because most or all of its minerals have been removed, preventing mineral buildup in the humidifier tub. Tap, bottled water, or even spring water may also be used when necessary. While it will not harm the machine or pose a risk to your health, it will require more rigorous cleaning of your water tub to prevent excess mineral buildup.

@ResMed
@ResMed Ай бұрын
Keeping your machine plugged in allows your therapy data to be transmitted to your care supplier. So for this reason, we do recommend leaving it plugged in whenever possible. Whenever it's not being used for therapy, rather than unplugging the machine and storing it away, we'd recommend hitting the Start/Stop button to stop the machine and your therapy pressure should stop after a few seconds. You can also ask your supplier to enable the Smart Start/Stop feature (if available on your machine) which will pause your therapy when you remove your mask and restart once you breathe into your mask again.

@ResMed okay. But I'd it okay to have the machine in an eara where there's lots of walking back and forth all day and having to move it every morning? Because I live in a one bedroom apartment. And do I leave it on with the empty water tub in? And what about the outlet on the back that can fill up with dust sitting out in an area where there's a lot of walking back and forth. I don't have any other way to keep it out of duft and it just seems more sanitary storing it away when not used.
@ResMed
@ResMed Ай бұрын
Thanks for asking! We can appreciate the sanitation worries you have; however, your air filter does an excellent job preventing dust and debris from entering your machine and regularly wiping down the exterior of your machine with a clean dry cloth can also help. Storing it with the water tub empty is also a great idea since we do recommend replacing the water after each use. So, keeping your machine out and plugged in, regardless of foot traffic in the area should be okay. Just ensure it’s on a flat and stable surface with an empty water tub to reduce the risks of any potential accidents. Also, regularly check your air filter and replace it if it shows signs discoloration, holes, or tears. As always, we also recommend discussing this with your doctor or supplier as they can best address any concerns you might have and offer some options to help.
