Another wonderful build, Thingfishy. Love that you parallel the two dragon fights. Inspired. Your combination of information and entertainment value is tops.

I saw another video where they had scripted mohg if you could get your AR to a specific level before buffing and applying bleed grease. But I kept fucking it up and just had to get good. Looking forward to your video on it!

Yeah, feel like I've neglected the easier approaches a bit recently, so working on a full vid for an easy early DLC that doesn't involve parrying noble or no-hitting Mohg. Watching the Mohg fights on this vid is kinda what triggered that thought.

@@ThingfishyGaming in the worst case scenario there is still the mogh despawn glitch (if it hasn’t been patched out yet) from your early Mogh spear vid. Anyway: im really enjoying your content! Keep up the good work

Hey peeps! I'm working on a route for getting to the DLC early that doesn't involve being an absolute nerd. Realised that starting the last two videos with Godskin Noble parry fights isn't the most accessible for the less experienced. So if the early DLC routes look scary, don't worry, I am working on it. Also, there's a somber 8 in the blood river in Mohgwhynn's that you'll have if you pick up all the runes there. Couldn't work out where I'd got an extra one from until I saw it on the next run. Hope you enjoy the vid!

You don't technically NEED to buy a small shield for Parry. The Golden Shield is free, in the graveyard next to Chapel of Anticipation in Weeping Peninsula, just north of the 2x Bleed Grease you pick up in your prep video.

Ok at first I was hooked because lots of love went into that intro, but then the video ran so far away from the title (Milady…was absolutely not needed for this content), and so headlong into spoiling tons of boss fights that I stopped watching. Wasn’t this supposed to be about the sword, and not your love of the parry mechanic? And I didn’t intentionally start up a video spoiling bossfights and telling me over and over “get gud” or “skill issue.” We get it. You like partying. Cool. I was here for content on the Milady, instead got spoilers for lots of DLC bosses I haven’t seen yet. Work on your titles, wtf

Just got here in the DLC, tried fighting normally with the build I was playing through with so far, then let the parrying urges take over. Unfortunately did not get a lot of practice on the gap closers or the quick openers. I was going for a victory over practice, so I'm satisfied for now. For the gap closers I imagine running golden parry and cerulean dagger would help make up for those inconsistencies in distance

I know it's a 2 year old video, but I wanted to say thanks for posting these vids. I just picked Elden Ring a couple weeks ago and thanks to you, I just cleared Margit, my first Soulsborne boss victory ever, using a small shield parry and +4 Scimitar with Bloody Slash (for the bleed). I was surprised to see that the parrying dagger wasn't faster. Like, honestly, I thought it'd be the fastest out of the bunch, but at the cost of damage negation. I do still want to learn how to use it, though, for Fashion™.

I'm late to the party on Dark Souls 1, 2, and 3. I just finished them and this was the best by far. I really enjoyed the guide just loosely pointing me in the right direction and then letting me figure out the in between stuff. I would have missed a lot of the game if I didn't follow this. If Elden Ring is what keeps your channel going, then go for it, but I'd totally be down for future DS3, Lies of P, or other games.

Commander Niall (mountain fortress boss) was one of the most frustrating and hardest because his windows for attack are small and at odd moments. Like he comes down with a slam attack or a fast lunge and you successfully dodge it but then he has a frost or two more attacks after. Even if you stay out of those you have the window for one hit... My strategy was summon the 6 wallshield guys +7 or +9 then immediately sprint and jump attack and a couple swings to annihilate the dual wielding knight right away) leaving only the shield knight to deal with the shield guys(leave them alone). Now focus on Niall b/c In this state Niall doesnt do much or any big atta ks iirc, ice or lightning attacks. He saunters around, swings, pokes at you and sometimes buffs the remaining knight only swings. But since his knight is still alive he's in this non-aggressive mode. So you can just hammer more on him as long as the other knight is alive. Even after the knight dies he tries to attack the shield guys but you can just stay behind them and jump hit him or go behind him and do some super attack. They'll block his spear attacks. I think it's a great strat if you can kill the dual wielding knight within 10 seconds We killed Niall before he even started phase 2. Goddamn that felt amazing.

I just started playing about a week ago and I'm trying to learn the parry timing because it feels so cool. I've got his backhand move pretty close to consistent (using a small shield, not buckler), but I'm struggling with his overhead strikes. Thanks for posting this, the button clicks are so nice

Tried for 6 hours today to do a pure parry fight with her, only 5 times did I make it to phase 2. 99% of my deaths were to the 1-2 combo, I'm seeing no consistency whatsoever to parrying it. It either comes out far too fast for me to react to it, or there is something broken with parrying it. Positioning doesn't seem to make any difference whatsoever. Parrying Pre-Patch DLC Radahn was way way easier than this.

All I can do is promise you that it will get better over time. When I first learnt the fight, the quick 1-2 was 50-50 as to whether I got it or not. With time, I got more consistent with it, but it's certainly the attack I've died to the most in Elden Ring. Positioning matters only in that if you are too far away, you won't get it. Good luck with the fight and let me know how you get on!

Once I continuously parried more than 4 of his attacks then he did that fast clone attack and I was hyped up and actually parried this attack also, I have no idea how I thought that running from all the clones and parry the real one will work but that really felt like I won the fight because I never thought someone has done that before 😂

I have a lot to say on radahn so please everyone. Indulge me a moment. He definitely needed a nerf. But this was too much. First off everyone was praising the dlc for being hard and clowning on idiots who complained about difficulty. We don't want you to make it easier. Radahn is presumably the last boss for Elden Ring. Let him stay the monster he was. He is also known as the mightiest demigod. He really made us understand why they called him that. And he is much more life like. I mean its unrealistic that these guys will just watch us power up and summon. I liked that he charged in with no hesitation and you have to create a moment to do your business in the fight. Like they nerf the surprise attack because it was too surprising are you serious? Besides he didnt even always do that attack. Sometimes he started with lion claw or started running. Not necessary. They did however need to fix that the slam goes through the fog wall and hits phantoms. Now onto the moveset. Ok lets address the big thing. The X slash was rightfully nerf. No attack should depend entirely on your placement of the boss. That was dumb (Even tho if some of yall would grow a pair, you'd know light roll trivializes that move). Radahn uses it as a get off me tool but its so pathetically slow that its a waste. There were 2 easy fixes if you ask me. 1. They widen the dodge window by a small amount. Meaning its extremely unforgiving and has to be timed perfectly so any late dodges will get caught. 2. They could've made it a move that can be done in 1 dodge. The first 2 slashes are done in the time of one dodge roll like with rellana's hold double slash with her left sword. I think this would've been best. And it still gives a window to escape the final hit. Making it as weak as it is was just distasteful. Now I think most people would agree that phase 1 is pretty awesome. Radahn is awesome and menacing and strong as FUCK. Just what we expected. I dont hear anyone complaining about it so id leave it as is. What needs to be touched up is phase 2. - Real quick though the only thing i would nerf regarding the moveset itself is the bloodflame slice recovery time(which they did) and bringing down the damage on his extremely fast slashes. They do way too much damage for a supposedly slower boss. Everything else was fine really. Now he feels more like hes waiting for you to hit him before he begins his next move. - Back to phase 2. In addition to the changes above the only thing i would do is nerf the lighting and the lights that follow his slashes. Those are rhe big issue in phase 2. Everything else can be learned. Even the after image strikes. (They can be dodged by walking guys come on). But how i would fix those light beams is either 1. Remove 1 light beam so there's exactly one less beam. Ive watched hosts perfectly dodge radahn's slash but the light beams cover the exaft length of their roll and they die. Thats kinda broken. Taking one off would be infinitely more forgiving. OR 2. They can just reduce the poise of those follow up light beams. I have also seen and experienced dodging a move but being hit by the light beams which stun long enough for radahn to cleave through us a second time with more light beams. That is simply too punishing and i have beaten him more than once. Its excessive. Let the light rays do damage but don't make them stop our tracks completely. That would make phase 2 instantly more bearable because they even stop you from hitting during the small windows we have to attack. Plus they didnt even need to make him slow when in the very same patch they buffed our attsck speed so heavily. We can bust in heavy attacks so quickly and easily we can break his posture quickly too. But these few minor changes is all i think he needs to remain the hardest boss fight in fromsoft history while still being more forgiving to the player. Let me know your guy's thoughts. If you made it this far im sorry you had to read all that and I hope you were intrigued by these ideas.
