How To Make An Early Rellana Build | INT/Faith/Strength/Dex Build Guide | Elden Ring

I went to the DLC Early to grab Rellana's gear for a super fun base game + DLC run. Here's what happened.
Talismans and Physick:
I didn't recommend talismans for each fight in this run, as there are so many variables for this build (boss order/how many slots you have/boss weaknesses/stat distribution/ are you gonna parry?). Here are some suggestions for set-ups:
Physical Damage Set-up:
(For fights where you want to focus on standard attacks)
Fire Scorpion
Magic Scorpion
Ritual Sword
*Radagon's Soreseal
Physick: Dex-Knot & Strength Knot
INT/Faith Set-up:
(For fights where your weapon arts are doing the bulk of the damage)
Magic Scorpion
Fire Scorpion
Shard Of Alexander
Ritual Sword
Physick: Magic Shrouding & Flame Shrouding
Pure INT Set-up:
(If you're gonna use the Magic weapon art and spell)
Magic Scorpion
Ritual Sword
Shard of Alexander
Graven Mass/School
Physick: Magic Shrouding & INT-Knot
(Note: If the faith tear would give you 26 faith - use that instead, as Golden Vow will give you more damage than the INT tear at most levels)
Pure Faith Set-up:
(Fire weapon art + other incants)
Fire Scorpion
Shard of Alexander
Ritual Sword
Flock's Canvas
Physick: Flame Shrouding & Faith-Knot
If you're gonna parry, replace two of the talismans with the Dagger Talisman & Blade of Mercy.
*I don't think the consecutive hit talismans are a top priority for this build, but Millicent's Prosthesis would probably be a decent alternative to the Soreseal for some fights, if you want to do the questline.

Of all possible places to recommend getting a larval tear, I think the lobster that turns into a grafted scion might just be the funniest one you could have suggested, doubly so now that there are ones available not two minutes into the DLC without having to do anything more strenuous than changing the time of day.

I just beat Rellana yesterday with my low level low scadfrag dagger only build. That was one of the greatest feeling accomplishment I’ve ever gotten in gaming. It just hits different to beat these really difficult bosses at low level with suboptimal gear.

A note on Mohg: The old exploit of falling out of the map still works, but with some modification. You have to hold a casting animation, for example heal, while you're falling. People have also devised strategies for fighting him that makes the fight scripted and achievable at a low level.

Yeah the Reduvia strat is nice in some ways but not optimal in others. Bleed Grease and Bloodhounds is a lot comfier (used that for the next vid), but if you forget to make a save and run out of bleed grease, you'll wish you had the Reduvia. Serpent hunter is my current prediction for the best option, but we'll see. I'm holding off on using the glitch until the patches slow down, in case they decide to fix it. Thanks for watching!

For getting a plus 7 somber. When you kill Radahn it gives you access to the next part of Rannis quest where you can find one and you don’t have to go to volcano manor. Another option which I also prefer is to use a dagger like misericorde and put the blood blade ash of war on it. That gives you way more bleed build up than using reduvia. That’s the exact strategy I just used on my dagger only run to reach dlc at low level. The downside is you do have to run around finding the regular smithing stones.

I can’t wait to try this after I finish the DLC for the first time. I’m doing my first ever no summons no shields run, which has helped me greatly when it comes to learning boss movement. Getting to the DLC around 120 was a huge accomplishment me for a scrub like me.

Rellana's Cameo definitely a must for talismans with pretty much all the stance weapons now with the buff it got this patch.

@@ThingfishyGaming I went into the DLC with your faith/samurai build and the flame art uchi, which has seen me through most of it. I love some of the new weapons, especially the M'lady (maxed) but hey, muscle memory! Anyway, I'm about level 170 . 60 vigour 80 faith and the others so I can use stuff. It's a skill issue, mate. I even went back to the base game to get the mimic for Radahn. Other me sucks as well!

@@crapsharkify Honestly best two pieces of advice i can give is either use the guarding tear on a medium shield (brass or messmer soldier ftw!) and using it but not relying on it, or using a high guard boost shield like the black steel great shield in reserve with lighter armor for some of his more heavy attacks especially as your relying on the milady and not a heavy weapon. you mentioned parrying him into phase 2, and as the guard tear has more of an active period (and also still allows you to reduce damage on a failed perfect guard) it would probably be a better and kinder bet! You'll get him. play it patient. be kind to yourself

I also use the Milady for my Rellana build, since she uses Carian Sovereignty. I'd put the twin blades in my left hand and Milady in the right, that way Rellana's fire sword is on the left and I've got a Magic infused light greatsword in my right. It's a real burden on the equip load but I wanted to have the full boss moveset

Hey Thingfishy just wanted to throw this out there for the Leda and Allies fight basically you can make that fight super easy by well removing all the optional allies Leda can have which are Redmane Freyja, Hornsent, and Moore its super easy to do this too! I did this on my current playthrough and it was just Leda and Dryleaf Dane vs me and 2 allies xD

What is your favorite parry fight in the game? For me personally, it's between Radagon and Midra. Both have really intuitive parry timings and when you parry them, they often follow up with a non parry-able move so it becomes a really nice flow of parry, dodge, then parry again.

i really wanted to love this weapon on my first playthrough of the dlc, but the damage just didn't stack up with the split scaling. the buff to the cameo has made it a lot more impressive. i found that with winged sword insignia active (the dual wield r1 move set gets it going pretty quick), shard of alexander, magic scorpion, and the rogier set, the magic weapon art turns into a blender lol. and if you don't care about the cosplay as much, you have a lot more spells and damage types to choose from on a run like this. after the buff, i took a character into ng+ with prince of death's staff and golden order seal and optimized for every boss. it's absurd how many of them you can one cycle with some forethought.

Hello Thingfishy, first thanks for all ur content it's very fun and interesting. I was wondering if u notice the deflect flask(i think u did) because it is a thing that i wanted for a long time and it allow for 5min(Very long duration) to deflect when perfect time blocking allowing you to block with a weapon without taking dammage and its a cool alternative to both shield and dodge(except some attacks) for exemple radahn phase 1 is relativly easy to full deflect and when u have deflected all his combo ur riposte dammages are very higly boosted so u juste heavy and i wonder if u want to do a video on that thing because it can make elden ring a little bit like Sekiro. And i hope they will add it to every next game as a new mechanic because this is very fun and not game breaking. Some people even manage to deflect waterfall with a sekiro rp and only a katana and it can deflect everything so maybe it is a cool alternative for boss u sadly cannot parry.

I did a run with sonaf and the buffed rellana twinblade and i can say that while sonaf will deal more damage in certain situations and has a faster ash of war, i prefer rellana twinblade because of the moveset, the ash of war that i think it's more stylish and deals almost the same damage as sonaf if almost everything connects, more stance damage and more compatility with talismans such as twinblade talisman, multi hit talismans, shard of alexander, the scorpions talismans and rennala cameo, while sonaf was just the scorpions talisman, shard of alexander and rennala cameo

Yeah, I feel like the twinblade are little more interactive. SONAF is super fun to delete things with, but if you're not using the weapon art, you just have a broadsword. The possible talisman and physick combos for Rellana are huge. Thanks for watching!

So, I don't know if you forget that not everyone plays Elden Ring for a living like you do, but just wanted to let you know, 99% of us cannot kill Mohg with this setup. I went above your guidelines, 35 Vigor and 44 Arcane, Carian Knight Set with the Dragoncrest Shield and Radagon's Soreseal, Flame Grant me Strength and Golden Vow, with the Purifying Tear, and he still two-shots me. We don't all have encyclopedic knowledge of every boss' moveset or can animation-read them like a damn computer to do a perfect fight. After two hours of attempts I got him to the second phase three times, and died within 10 seconds of doing so each time. This just is not feasible as a starting boss. I really think you shouldn't do any DLC build guides unless you either can think of a way to make the Mohg fight a guarantee, or utilize some kind of exploit or something to make it more realistic at such low stats. I'm gonna grab the Mimic Tear and give that a try tomorrow, see if it helps, but realistically I'm just going to end up throwing this run in the trash.

May not be news but even before the buff I enjoyed using Rellana Twinblades in my left hand with the holy light GS in my right so I have two faith scaling light GS’s, you can do the same in the other hand and have like a magic or cold milady. Love the moveset
