I hate that people are homeless in this country. But at our church I was an Elder and people would come to church to ask for help we would take them to the store and buy them groceries basic easy to cook foods and got them a hotel room for a week. But these people only came to Gods house every few months to get something, We have a Baptist Association and Methodist and church of God and other Associations. We contacted some of these and found that these specific people went from church to church to live off the churches. We still decided to help them.We told this man and wife no kids that we would help them but they had to do some work. The church yard needed the leaves raked, they could vacuum the church clean the floors, not hourly wage just some work for help. The Bible says a man don't work, he does not eat. These people who where not disabled physically they where not unable tonwork , but they took offense and said they could get money from other churches. Christians do need to help others but not every person seeking help need help , their are people who just don't want to work. If everyone else works then if you are able to you should work. If someone needs work and you can you shou!d try to hire people who need work. We need to as a country offer more affordable housing, food stamps and jobs , maybe jobs that people can do according to their ability and health. Make a program that can help someone who maybe works at McDonald's and add to their program the amount of money they need to eat, pay rent, and live! Also loan money to people to buy a home and have it fixed up. Cut out the flipper who buys a house for $15,000.00 fix it for $20,000.00 and then the flipper sells it to someone for $75,000.00. Give financially struggling people a loan for $ 50,000.00 to buy and repair and pay someone flip the house. Maybe have a program of buying wrecked cars for $2,000.00 fix them for 3,000.00 and sell them for $6,000.00. These loans are for $56,000.00 to help a struggling family help them to dig out of the financial pit and help them to progressively get better jobs. Not by just throwing money at them but by flipping houses, and restoring wrecks. Giving these people wise help! If they are homeless because of drugs, alcoholism these are different cases! But a person who works two jobs and still ahs to live in THIER CAR (they are out their) they need help single parents people with mental impairments we need to help them. And those with the other problems

This says it is 4 years old...time to re-visit! We all need to keep hearing of how good life is when all you need fits in a tiny house & your community supports you.

The rich are getting richer and we the common people are struggling more than ever to just live with dignity. Something's wrong with the people in power! And that is the same the world over!

I would rather have these instead of people living on the streets but it should come with them getting help with jobs, education, training, counseling and require them to pay a small rent amount.
@julesmisty11 ай бұрын
Absolutely! Handouts are not the answer. HandUPS are the answer. $250 to $350 a month? Seniors who've paid taxes their whole lives should get these before anyone else, then disabled persons. There's no way senior ladies should be living in their car!! It's unhealthy and unsafe. It's disgusting to think of grandmas living in a car or tent. Where is the public housing based on income for seniors? Taken by whom? I'll leave that question for someone else.

I say American stop paying taxes. And they start putting their money into programs like this Do you know how much money they blow related to homelessness and the government
@meggrotte4760 Жыл бұрын
They need to hire this pastor so he can solve the problem in america. The guy came up with a good system It could probably work really well if people were willing to help him in the political arena. We should have ended homelessness forty years ago Sure you're gonna have some occasional homeless people. But we put little to no effort in solving the problem. Of course, people try to help as best they can. But there's only so much they can do without real financial resources

It's not just house prices that create this problem. It is also the ever growing divide between the haves and the have nots. People are either on mega salaries ( usually those who do little to create the wealth) and the minimum wage workers who do the creating. We need to get real and make sure that everyone has enough income to live a good and relaxed life.

No kidding! We have done a lot of video work around housing and homelessness now, and one thing that has always stuck with me is when a housing advocate stated that the No 1 thing in his experience that contributes to homelessness is "the catastrophic loss of family". I guess there are lots of ways that that can happen. I'm glad your grandmother has you! -RR

Deep respect for you Tara and your father. I began listening to Tribal Voice back in the 80s. 2 years ago i started listening to his various talks.
