I hadnt seen the race but the 86 CR250R they were riding was my first race bike a works bike that honda had to sell to the public or loose their bikes for a clause in their race contract that say these guys get specific bikes motors factory equipment or their gone a big part of signing riders is what they are riding...the bike was warp great useable power an great forks....the balance crank an motor was best we all dream of a works bike i had one an didnt know till ever bike that followed for the next 10 year was worse an worse in comparison to my 86CR 250...i would really love to have that motor an the forks again...i had to redu a 96 fork an shock 4 times to get it were those showa convential forks were bone stock...see how good RJ an david did they went to europe italy an lap all the GP guys all 3 of em...that Gp win was the marketing jewel...u know u let go of a great bike when one by one ur ole racer friends tell how good it was an it was the best and they told me about the AMA rule in 85...what were they gonna do put rick on a stock bike without telling him hed went back to yamaha probably...

That was the influential athlete in the century! The game was permanently changed during Stewart's reign. Even the GOAT was forced to change his riding style.

I like Stewart only man to pressure Carmichael but in the end RC fittness and ability to get better every week and improve plus lay down faster laps the last 5 mins of a race than practice times means Stewart was not the fastest man on 2 wheels RC is named the goat for a reason 2 perfect motorcross seasons 102 outdoor overalls out of the 128 he competed in total of 167 Moto wins out on 370 total motos in his career
