Can you please tell me ...I am using Netflix for movies. Netflix wants me to pay 10 dollars more for Atmos and the standard (10.00 less) is 5.1 for the sound . Why cant I save about 10.00 a month if I use my Auro 3 D to upmix the 5.1 to Auro 3D ?.I do not care about 4k ...just sound. .Is this possible ?

It's $10. You spend that on a coffee. Get the atmos! On a properly laid out system atmos even on Netflix is awesome. For what we spend on our systems don't let $10 keep you from enjoying it to the max.

im going to build your design. Thank you so much for the detailed instructions! I have already built a pair of North Creek Music Borealis main speakers but need a bit more lower end for listening. One question I have is that the bracing in my NCM Borealis' has round holes that have the edges rounded over to prevent chuffing. Can the window pane brace also use this method? It might be a bit easier for me to cut out with a hole saw.

Sounds like you've got some diy skills. There's no need to round off braces as there's not nearly enough air velocity passing over a brace at any time to cause any noise at all. Just hit it with some sand paper and install. Now ports you can round over if the port velocity is close to a near audible speed and it can help. These sub ports are not audible so no need but you can. See the community tab from the channels page as there's an updated cut list.

I’m wanting to get a new receiver and maybe try 5.1.2 setup. Do I need a 5 or 7 channel receiver for that? Could you make the atmos upper middle wireless? That’s the only way I could put them in the middle other wise I’d have to go in the front.

With soundbars and centres being awkward with USTs I'd imagine this would pair well with the Sony theatre quad. From what I've seen for daylight viewing this and its siblings look even better on a fresnel screen especially if you have that side light coming from windows. Not sure I'd buy this one though purely because if you shop around the 3000 pro can usually be found for not much more money. Another big pro of these for those that care is 3D.

I'm having some serious comprehension problems. First, my biggest issue is following what planes your angles are coming from. I think if I drew a line from one side of the room and through my ears and then rotate that line 60 degrees from the center of my head I would get the location for side to side. But I'm missing where you get the front and back angles. It looks like you get it from going perpendicular to the first line but I can't get the angles to intersect. Or am I suppose to just focus on the measurements themselves? But doing so is resulting in some rather odd angles. The speakers I want to use are 4 Elac Debut IC-DT61-W which have a 30 degree angle. So that's 3 angles I'm trying to get to intersect in sketchup. I think I'm going to make a 30 degree cone that goes from a point and extends from my ears up to my ceiling. I'm going to assume the Elacs are 30 degrees from the plane of the ceiling. Right now if I come 30 degrees from my head and then rotate the angled line 30 degrees I'm ending up on my wall. What if I were to draw a line from my front speaker to my head (25 degree angle) and then rotate that upwards to 60? I think I'm inverting my angles.... I'm doing 30 when I should be doing 60? So 60 degrees from my head would be 30 from the ceiling? An hour ago I would have sworn I was smart.

After doing that all 4 speakers are 40" apart from the centers. My ceiling is only 7'8" so that may be right but it's just so different than any diagram I've seen. Maybe doing it from the floor will give a bit more distance which might be a good compromise considering there will usually be 3 people in line watching movies.

However, I just decided that I really really like the 2010, 70" Sharp Aquos 1080p TV that I saved from the recycle center and repaired myself several years ago. I'm so happy about the money I just saved from that one decision. In fact I might put all of my AV gear up for sale and to heck with this AV hobby/nightmare/keep up with the Jones'/time & money waster. Nobody home anymore, but me to make use of it anyway. @hometheatergurus
@hometheatergurus 5 күн бұрын
Not good. It needs a smooth screen or an ALR designed for UST. While it's a great projector and i was very impressed I wouldn't replace a long throw projector with it. Having the center behind an AT screen is a pretty big deal. IMO this is more for living rooms where you're already going to be using a center under a screen and you have to deal with lights on at times.

I replaced my Epson 6050 with a AWOL 3500, and I am using a Severtson 150" 16:9 microperf AT screen. Looks amazing, and easily the best 3D for home due to being a DLP. UST means you don't loose light compared to a long throw so HDR also benefits considerably.

Build montage shows that in his review either of this or the 3000. Seems to work fine. You lose light by not having an alr reflecting it better but that seems to be offset by alrs being lower gain.

No you don't have to use their amp. If the loudspeaker amp has enough power you can use it. The signal is from the Lfe channel so to use an avr you'd need a spare one so you can use it basically as amp but I would not attempt that as they usually don't have much power and it would be kind of a "rigged" system.

Great video thanks for posting. I am running a single Velodyne DD15+ sub which has its own eq built in. I run self eq on the subwoofer first. Self eq on the subwoofer does not set the crossover or volume. I then turn my low pass crossover to its highest point on my sub before running Audyssey.I have my processor set to 120hz for bass then I run Audyssey pro kit( not the app). The results I am getting are fantastic. After running Audyssey I am finding I don’t need to tweak anything. I definitely do not mess with db volume in my processor settings as if I need more volume I just turn it up at the volume knob. I am finding that I don’t get a boomy sub anymore and I get that rumble instead with a slight chest slam depending on the movie. Multi channel stereo sounds amazing too with no boomy bass.

They're actually quite easy to setup and sync up. You have to be way off in timing to have an issue and with a test tone on repeat, it's easy to fix in under a minute. You can have 100 subs and they will not do what these do which is give a tactile response at all levels and one that you can control and dial in to perfection.
