@Corduroykidd Ah cool 🤗 I just did this pattern for my partner's Christmas gift I crocheted the feet in 2mm black crochet thread to look more skinny, I added 2 rows of 8sc to the beak to be a bit longer, I did the black of thd eyes in double crochet and with a thinner hook. Also for the wings I literally just reversed the steps of the wing pattern with an extra slip stitch at the end and it made two (nearly) identical wings that are mirrored so you don't have to turn the one wing over and show the wrong side of ths stitches It's a super cute pattern and super easy to customize. I'm a advanced crocheter and to me a mark of a great pattern is how easy it is to tweak it without it not working anymore. Well done

I tried making them, but seemed to turn out too small, so I will try to start over. Do I just trust the process, or do you have another size I can try out (a bigger size). I will be using 100% extra fine merino wool, 50 g and 175 m (ish), I do have 2 rolls of yarn, so I have 350 meters in total, to use. I will properly be using a 3 mm hook. Looking forward to start again.(:
@Corduroykidd22 күн бұрын
I don't have a pattern for a larger size. I suggest using the proper yarn and hook size if you want it to turn out like mine otherwise it will always be too small.

Hello ! I love this pattern and have knit it multiple times. I am just about to start a new project using it and I noticed that you updated the pattern in 2023. I am wondering if for the addition of 4 stitches to the original 100 how I would scale that if I’ve increased the pattern for a 2” larger head size or if I would just add another 4 to my 116 count. Thanks again for posting this amazing pattern ! 😊
@CorduroykiddАй бұрын
Hi, you wouldn't need to add extra stitches :) 116-5x4 (20) =96/4=24. So your first decrease round would be rib 24, k2tog, purl 1, ssk. Hope that makes sense.

@CorduroykiddАй бұрын
It should still work! the extra 4 sts was for a purl inbetween the knit 2 together and the ssk. You can dm me a picture of it on instagram if you want and I can try to see what happened.

I want to learn how to do tapestry crochet but I can never find a tutorial that keeps the lines clean and it starts to bother me. How did you do it?
@CorduroykiddАй бұрын
What do you mean by "the lines clean?" I think the reason is looks so crisp is because I used a small hook and the tapestry is pretty big. The smaller the tapestry the more pixilated it becomes.

Hello - what a lovely project thank you , just double checking on the needle size . They look thicker than my #4 needles …
@CorduroykiddАй бұрын
I have two answers. I actually used a 4.5mm needle and mistakingly said 4mm in the video, that's been updated in the description. Also I always use the metric number since it's more standard-4.5mm is a number 7 US.

Genius. I've been crocheting for years, and I've never seen an invisible decrease. I love the tube-within-the-holder idea for the cover. If you wrap a few rubber bands around the masking tape-covered crochet hook, it could provide some more traction and keep the hooks from moving around. I've also come to like using magic loops and think it might be a good adaptation to this holder. Another compliment. I like the music, soft piano instrumental that you used with this video. I am a new KZbin creator @The-Best-Stuff-For-Kids and @JustPassingThrough-222, and I am still learning my craft. I also had the idea to crochet a bunch of bendable dolls I could position and a doll house for them to be in for the kid's channel. Subscribed now to your channel, and I enjoy your outlook, your patience, and your clarity.
@Corduroykidd4 ай бұрын
Thanks for your kind words! Yes I agree about the rubber bands, I tried that later on for improved traction and it holds much better. Glad to meet a new youtuber in the crochet space!

Gauge is 6.25 stitches to the inch in ribbing and 7.5 rows per inch. The pattern is in done in multiples of 8. Because of the ribbing you'd take your head measurement minus 4 inches and multiply by gauge and then choose the closest multiple of 8.
