Thank you Kevin. Very, very informative. I, too, hate stretcher bars. They stand out like a sore thumb unless you are painting with a palette knife.

bees come to my canvas and wallow in the paint, I don't know what to do about it.

I’ve been using the Hobby Lobby value 5 pack 16x20s you mentioned-they won’t sell 18x24 in 5 packs-which you also mentioned. I can tell you their cheap canvases in the 5 packs are not all plum-they’re not all exactly 16x20. And more, they bust easily. I accidentally tapped one of my $200 masterpieces with another frame and busted a half inch hole right in my meadow. Couldn’t sell that one! I won’t be buying any more value packs from Hobby Lobby. Their Master’s Touch oil paint is also too soft and creamy for wet on wet painting. What brand of oil paint do you recommend? I am tired of putting my paint on cardboard to soak out all that excess oil before I paint. It’s time consuming and very wasteful, because once it’s out of the tube….Help!

Love the painting but I found it very distracting to have the chat and the palette on the screen over your painting.

So many ad interruptions in the replay. 😢 I don’t mind a few, but it seems like it’s every 5-10 min.

@samanthajanescreations - do artists get paid when premium members watch their videos? Like I said, I don’t mind some ads… I want to help support the people who create “free” content, if a few ads is the way that happens I’m ok with it. Just overwhelmed by such frequent ad interruptions is all.

This is going above and beyond. Thanks for your time and expense. It will help greatly so that I won't have to wonder what is going on with a painting when it is the canvas. This sort of teaching is great. I won't be buying canvas with the middle crossbar.

A way to save money is to buy a big bottle of good gesso and apply a layer to the cheap canvases, then they work great 👍🏻

Where can you buy Sunbelt canvas in Canada ? Alberta
@KevinOilPainting7 күн бұрын
Hi Mary. I don't know if they ship to Canada. But here is the website. sunbeltmfg.com/collections/canvas-surfaces If they do not, then I recommend trying Cheap Joe's assuming they ship to Canada.

I stay away from ones with the stretcher bar, unless its a gallery thickness one, because they are not too close to the canvas, like the thinner ones
@KevinOilPainting7 күн бұрын
Yes, I didn't mention that. But I don't mind gallery wrapped bars going down the middle for that same reason. But I still don't care for having to bother painting around the edges and making a mess.

Iove watching you paint . I've always loved art ! I'm 79 this month and have never had the opportunity to learn . To me, if you need somebody to tell you how to paint, it's not your own true painting .I guess I'll continue to watch and learn some techniques you use and maybe they'll sink in and I'll give it a try . It's never too late I hear ... Thank you for your videos , I really enjoy watching and the colors you make and added strokes !!! God bless you ...
