I remember my first time going there back in the late 90's. I asked him for curry on my chips and he replied "we dont have any of that foreign shit"😂 so i said ketchup will do thanks. Went there many time after that. Great chipper.

I will never forget the kindest of Breda, on the day I buried my mother in 2015, we had food arranged to be brought in to Redmonds GAA club for relatives and friends. Unfortunately the catering company didn't supply enough plates, I ran from the club to Breda's shop looking for paper plates, I told her of my predicament and she brought me into the living room of the house, she came out with 2 packets of plates, I offered to pay for them, she refused point blank and just said my mam was a lovely woman, she saved the day and I'm eternally grateful for that moment of kindness from a lovely, decent old neighbour.

Looks a lot different now, third lockdown, full assault on business and hospitality sector. Debenhams about to be turned into a hostel for foreign students, explosion of homeless head bangers everywhere😢 you can thank our E.U. installed "politicians" and their IMF budgets for that. The high street is dead and we voted for it.

How come when we didnt have a pot to piss in in the 80's people could still in for a pint, but now when we are supposed to be richer than ever no one can go out? We are a social people, we are losing that.

Now that place is a blast from the past. I remember we used to go in there every Friday when I was a kid in the 80's after my mam did her big weekly shop in Dunnes, which used to be directly across from it, and then get the number 2 bus back to Mahon eating them, the bus must have stunk of chips. 😆
