Dianne Warren wrote it. Probably the best love song ever written and Leann hit it out of the park.

I heard this in the 80's, whatever year it came out. I was a Mike and The Mechanics fan because I dig Mike Rutherford's guitar playing. And the meaning of it struck me as a teenager, but now as a guy in his 50's who lost his dad in '07, it makes me glad I had the conversations I did with my dad.

In the day to day world color doesn't matter, when you treat everyone how you want to be treated you quickly learn we are all the same. Years ago (talkin late 90's) I invited a few of my football buddies to a party (they are all black) It was a straight redneck part with shotgun's, cow tipping, bull riding barrel, bon fire, bbq and lots of hank williams jr and alcohol and let me tell you these guys had an absolute blast. They felt a little out of place which is understandable but they soon fell right in and had one hell of a night. We still meet up a few times a year to go camping or have a big multi family cookout or fish fry. This was in alabama btw, so from a random white guy from bama much love to you and I wish you the very best life has offer.

No words are needed young lady your omg expression when he first opened his mouth says it all. I was 17 when this came out and every woman I knew felt just what you went through. Beautiful stuff.

Sushi, are you ever going to look at? You gave me a mountain by Elvis Presley from Aloha from Hawaii? Do you want to really hear the range and power of Elvis’s voice review on that one? I’d like to see your reaction to that one

One of the things that always gives me chills about this is that Trace didn't end the song. It was the future Army officers who had that honor, with him facing them.

Finally. Idk why reaction channels react to the live version first and sometimes ONLY. We all heard these songs on the radio. React the radio version or the music video.

Actually no there's no incest involved here since neither Ray, the Widow or Ray's Father is blood related to the grown up Daughter. Now there's a creepy age gap there since Ray's dad would have to be in his late 40s and the Daughter in her early 20s, but otherwise most of this is in name only. Ray would only be his own step-grandfather on a technicality.
