Honestly, my Titanium case RIDGE watch (yes, same company that makes that awful RIDGE wallet) looks better than this Tudor, for a fraction of the price. You look at both their dials and you can see both are inspired by the Rolex Explorer. Also, if Tudor wanted to commemorate that event from 70 years ago.... Why didn't they create a modern-day re-issue of the Oyster Prince, instead? Seems more like a bit of flimsy marketing tie-in.

The perfect g shock watch. And it costs 300$... of course. Casio really can't get over themselves. They create everything people are asking for and then make it either expensive or limited edition. Why this watch costs 3 times the price of the regular gw 5610 is beyond me. Just make the 5610 with stealthy look _and_ positive display and mark it at 120$ how hard is that???

Cwc gs sapphire. Built to British military specifications but with 200m ,sapphire crystal. Same as the G10 but better built.

yeah, not sure i could convivence myself to pay 3 times the price for a very slightly heavier version of the 5610. the watch itself is exactly the same aside from a metal in the bezel giving it a little weight.

You have to embrace the watch for what it is. A tool watch, discreet, not in the way of getting physical activities done. If that's not for you then don't blame the companies for getting the watches right by making them small.

A question for owners out there. I know the bracelet, at the clasp, has one rigid link which, I have heard, may make the bracelet jut out from your wrist, if your wrists are on the smaller side. Have you noticed this? My wrist is about 6.5"

I actually agree with Hamilton. Mineral crystal was the better choice for this watch than sapphire. Put this watch next to the Khaki Field Mechanical and you’ll see the difference in clarity. With black dials sapphire sucks. It washes out the color of the dial and is heavily reflective. One shouldn’t assume that sapphire is ALWAYS the best choice for a watch. It isn’t.

I dont agree that analog watches are easier to read at angles. If im riding my bike to the train station with my 5610u on my wrist, I can glance at the watch for a second and know the exact minute and second, without lifting my hands from the handlebar. I would not do that with any of my analog watches. I would usually not be able to tell 08:42 and 08:44 apart with certainty or know the minute and seconds with confidence, with just a glance, without lifting my hands from the handlebar. I love both my analog and digital watches, but I cant really think of many real life situations where the time is more readable/faster to read on my analogs compared to my 5610u.

I bought this as my last, and only, luxury watch. It's my daily wear now, I don't have anything else as I sold them all. It's been pretty much flawless, tells the right time all the time and the bezel sits perfectly well in the right position when set. I get compliments on it as well. The only thing I can nitpick is as follows: The strap it comes with tends to 'un-clasp' itself from time to time from the metal Seiko slide clasp. You have to set that with a little extra strap hanging out, which can catch on clothing or anything near your wrist. So I can see why people put these models on natos or some other after market strap. The Seiko issued strap wears well, looks nice but its just a little flawed as all.

I just wanted to raise a concern that I haven't seen discussed anywhere on the Internet. In my opinion competent field watches must have (at least) a date complication and a day-date complication is even better. When away from civilization it is easy to lose track of the day and date. This could be crucial if you are supposed to meet someone for resupply or extraction (for example). Some might argue that this information can be retrieved from a cell phone, but then so can the time and cell phones are notorious for their short battery life.

Just draw a mark everytime the sun rise, it is truly not that hard
@davestagner3 ай бұрын
The WWII “Dirty Dozen” spec didn’t include a date complication, and it’s hard to call what the British army gave its troops in WWII anything other than “field watch”. Of course, great field watches are available both with and without date complications. I prefer to not have one myself… if I really need the date, I’ll use my phone, and if I’m in a situation where my phone has died and I’m completely outside of civilization for days enough to lose track of what day it is, knowing the correct date is probably the least of my worries!
@HappyGuy113 ай бұрын
@@davestagner Thanks for your comment. The Dirty Dozen watch specification was issued in 1945, the same year that Rolex released the first self-changing date complication, so it is understandable that those responsible for the program would think that a self-changing date complication would be a "bridge too far." However, fast-forward 79 years and self-changing date complications are provided on most affordable watches, so there's no reason for us to confine ourselves to pre-1945 technology in choosing an optimum field watch. I like the symmetry of no-date dials as much as anyone, but I prefer a date complication for both field and travel watches (which have similar requirements).
@davestagner3 ай бұрын
@@HappyGuy11 Sure, I can see that! Your historic reasoning makes sense. Still, though, I feel a date complication on a field watch is a preference, not a requirement (just as a 4pm crown is a strong preference for me, but absolutely not a requirement).

Concerns about the glass some have expressed here is a non-issue in practice. I use mine in demanding situations all the time over the last year and a half and similarly screened Casio squares before that and they are all fine. The only reason this guy scratched his is because he intentionally scrubbed it into grit face down(!) (6:40) Who does that in the real world? Again, it’s a non-issue.
