When adjusting delays/bars, etc. within the MX5, I've found it easier to touch the adjustment bar then use the dial to change it. Much easier/faster once you're used to it.

I dig that with the headrush your toes sound distinct from the army of Helix users, no offense to Helix users. You have great, open and chimy tones

I try to come up with tones that “sound like me”, but also work for style of music we play. I come from more of a rock background. I tend to use more drive than other church guitar players I have gigged with

Hi Peter, I'm a worship leader for a church in Australia. I've been looking at overhauling my pedal board and purchasing a HR Prime. Came across your channel in the process. Your videos are stellar!! Thank you. I have a couple of questions which I was hoping you might have some experience with; - The HR Prime has a small lithium (watch) battery on the internal board which I cannot find any info on nor what happens when it expires. More importantly how easy is it to replace when the time comes? Have you had any experience with this as yet? I've attempted to contact HR support re same without success. - Do you have any experience re the vocal capabilities/quality of the unit. Vocal demos are notably rare on YT re this feature. Even HR own material rarely demonstrates someone actually singing. It does lead me to feel the vocal side of the board is a bit of an afterthought... Thanks for your time. Have a good day.

i have the original Pedalboard from 2017 and have not needed to change the internal battery in that or my Prime. I have not tried the vocal effects. This is the best demo I have seen of them in use. kzbin.info/www/bejne/l5fafKGmmbeljJIsi=8OwL0gOzj_nyK7A3

I bought a midi controller for mx5 and it gives me 4 extra footswitch. I thought the logical way to use it giving 4 different rig for extra fswitches and using scene+pedal on off combinations from mx5. What do you think and how can I use it differently any ideas? Maybe using 7 pedals in preset but i have to add different amps then in one rig maybe.. thank you for contents and videos.

I would probably use the footswitches on the MX5 to change scenes, and the external footswitches to turn individual effects on/off within those scenes

Thanks for sharing, just found your channel and subscribed. I play drums and guitar in my church worship group. Quick question but does the gigboard have balanced outs so run straight into the mixing desk?
@forthecreator1
@forthecreator1 2 ай бұрын
All Headrush have balanced outputs and can be connected directly to the console, HOWEVER only the Pedalboard and Prime have XLR outputs. The others have balanced TRS 1/4” outputs, so you would need TRS to XLR cables, in order to plug into an XLR input

Specific to Pedalboard and Prime: only the center 8 footswitches can be used to turn effects on/off. For MX5, Core, Gigboard all footswitches can be used.

THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH. I have had my Prime since it first hit the Shelves back in March of 23. And I still don’t know a lot of things about it. I just plugin and play, But watching your video has motivated me to take some time and find out what this thing is capable of. At first, being that this is my very first Effects pedal, I found it intimidating, as well as overwhelming. Saying to myself, I should have started off with something more simple, “but no”. I am going to conquer this pedal. You made things a lot simpler for me. I am a drummer who’s been playing Bass for almost 2 years, and love it. Thank You, once again.

Your video is my go to still. You did a great job. I wonder if you have the same issue as me. My sound guy at church said I should run stereo and no mono. He found that my left was 20db lower than the right. My rig has the 2 joined circles which should be stereo. I checked on my mixer and he's right, it's lower. Any thoughts? Thanks again.
@forthecreator1
@forthecreator1 3 ай бұрын
I do not have this problem. Tap on OUTPUT. when you play, is one side metering much lower than the other? If they are about the same, then the problem is occurring AFTER the Headrush. Eg. Perhaps you are plugged into a DI box and one of them has the pad engaged. Or perhaps one of the cables between the Headrush and the mixer is bad
@williamthomas3515
@williamthomas3515 3 ай бұрын
@@forthecreator1 Thanks for your reply. When I double tap on the output I get the the 2 meters. OUTPUT and ALT OUTPUT. All 4 meters are the same. If I run the left and right into my home mixer to 2 channels with the gain equal and the left panned to the left and the right the left is definitely lower than the right. The rig width is 100% which according to the manual should be stereo. I don't see anything in the setup that might be the issue either. I've been running just MONO at church and they split it to 2 channels to be basically stereo. Thanks for your help but this is baffling.
@forthecreator1
@forthecreator1 3 ай бұрын
Create a new rig that is completely blank. If that solves the problem, then your problem is a setting somewhere in the rig. Swap the cables with each other. If the problem moves to the right output, then it’s a bad cable. Also try going from the Alt outputs on the rear panel. That’s about all the trouble shooting I can think of

Great video & great comparisons, I’m a solo acoustic musician & slimmed down my set up to a headrush core for vocals & guitars & 1 x acoustic , Shure sm58 & cables , it’s less to go wrong & as you say it’s a quick set up & tear down. I did previously use strymon big sky & cloudburst but found for the expense of them playing live they are not nessesary for me as unless the audience is dead silent when I play a lot of the ambience from reverbs is lost …that’s just my opinion … awesome video 👌🏻

So I had to pull back out my valve amp of cause anything sounds good threw a real valve . As we just play in a duet at present was hoping to get rid of the valve amp weight and room. Have 2 line aray pa threw a 8 Chanel mixer. Try the xlr out andquter jacks still terrible. Do u think the head rush mx5 will cut it

Yes, I believe it is possible to get excellent guitar tones from the MX5. Some people have difficulty creating those tones (due to lack of experience), and for them the best option is to start with some pre made sounds that others have created. I have no experience with the other pedals you mention, so I can’t comment on those
