And he said this during a tour where he continually obfuscated and refused to answer questions. People still fall this? This guy is such a joke.

My cynicism is more of a tool, it’s my core but I’ve been through enough to know it’s never okay to let your guard down. Be nice, use kindness as a tool but always question everything and everyone. That’s just my pov

It depends on your definition of "smart". Left wing ideology is allegedly the realm of "educated" people. But that ideology is ripping Western Civilization apart. 🤔

It definitely does mean that Jordan Peterson and Douglas Murray are dumb as shit though because they really are

Indeed it is not an experience and thus there is nothing to be afraid of. The concept of oblivion isn't epistemically (let alone ontologically) justified.

What really surprises me is that Peterson doesn’t understand what an introvert and an extravert is when it comes to managing their energy it has nothing to do with whether they like people or they don’t

Kudos to Murray for saying that, cuz you know Harris wasn’t going to. Trump broke Sam. Omg. It’s so sad to see. Why is it that Douglas can see Trump for what he is (the good and bad) and balance them in his head while being an atheist, while seeing religion for the good and bad, but Sam can’t see either of them for the good and bad? He only sees the bad. He’s become so dogmatic that it’s beyond irony. He’s become the very religious demagogue that he’s professed to hate in the past. It’s really very sad.

It's very easy to be bitter and defensive because you've been burned before by a person or multiple people. It takes a lot of strength to extend your hand despite your trauma because instead of seeing everyone being motivated by greed or some other ulterior motive, you're willing to be the good in the world even if it hurts. If everything around you and everything sucks, why not be the one bright spot in the world instead of being another snuffed out candle?

Perhaps Sam Harris should become a conservative then, because ive never see any spark of intelligent or rational thought from him. Just someone masquerading as an intellectual.

I consider myself to be very high in contentiousness but I wasn't always that way. As I became older and, starting at around 25, I realised that my life trajectory shall we say, was not going to land well. My future began to matter to me and I started to worry about my future. I started to work hard. Seven years of tertiary education starting with returning to school as an adult student, followed by two years a polytechnic, and finally four years at university ending with a computer science degree. Now 57, I feel that one answer to the question of where contentiousness comes from is quite simply self preservation. Fear for one's future is a powerful motivator.

I'm sorry, in an age where you are mocked for being conservative, yet conservative values are the right values, it takes a huge amount of intelligent, wisdom and courage to do it. Any idiot fool can be a liberal and get applauded for engaging in astonishingly dumb and self destructive behaviour.
