This is extreme plastic surgery, and totally experimental. The people volunteering to go into the flesh grinder must have masochist tendencies, to allow such injury and trauma to their bodies. Either that, or it is an addiction, where the sufferer is willing to be permanently maimed in order to achieve that elusive nirvana. Go to sleep in the operating room, and wake up as someone else. Never gonna happen. This is creating such misery for young people who go past the point of no return. It would not surprise me to know that most of them regret it eventually. Doctors who push this surgery, have questionable motives. And pharma is giggling all the way to the bank. Every trangendered person is their customer for life. Profits are astronomical and rising.

You are right,……. It seems like for female to male Trans people who go for phalloplasties, that they are trying to achieve some type of elusive nirvana that will somehow quell their internal angst within themselves regarding their own life’s existence. It’s almost like those that want to get the phalloplasty surgery, has mentally turned the neo phallus into a type of idol or God for them, like it will somehow fix all their angst & insecurities in their life, once it becomes affixed onto them. But then, it never, really does, in addition to all the major complications that are so common & bound to happen. The medical establishment is pulling the wool over their eyes, & something strange is going on,…..

I read the book Irreversible Damage. It is a comprehensive, compassionate, and empathetic look at transgender issues. I am shocked there is so much opposition.

But lets talk real about this !! Is there any other way for these people to be helped ? Can they change thier brain by any deep Therpy so they accept thier body ? You know what the answer Is probably no Because I know some who went even get so much therapy but didn’t work out

In many ways I find you an educated and highly appealing speaker. No one though can understand what it is like to always feel like you don’t belong as the sex one was born into. It took me many years to come to full terms to living my life honestly. I now can live a full life and hold a job for longer than a year. I myself never could fit in with males, it felt weird. I couldn’t hang out with women either as they would feel strange. After starting my transition I began to feel more confident and comfortable. I am happier and can now work full time, and finished college. Costs are always extreme, but I am an RN. My parents still can’t understand, but they see me with friends and happy. Even been asked to attend a local southern baptist church, which is my faith. Sex is unimportant.

Cases like yours are valid, however, this issue has become a fad and is confusing young people. I'm glad this has worked for you but there needs to be more care taken to make sure that the person is legitimately needed to change.

Don't do it you will regret it you should be happy with the gender god made you not only that but I think you are just lost in life and feel like your lacking something just understand that no matter what surgery you undertake you cannot change gender I really am not trying to be hateful. Trouble is, who would you deem qualified to discuss this? Surgeons who sell those surgeries? I’d be suspicious of them. Can you refute the claims made by Shrier or do you disqualify them because of the speaker? Which bit is inaccurate? I think it’s an ‘ad hominem’ argument. Even right wingers can be right. And I say that as a lefty.

@@MsMsmak And her reliance on Zucker's stats whose clinic was shut down when conversion therapy became illegal in Ontario. Of course 80 percent of kids would 'grow out' of being trans if A most of them who were admitted to the clinic were not trans in the first place and B the kids were being diagnosed for gender expression not gender identity.
