Hi. How does the Taylor 214ce compare to the 114? In the videos I’ve watched the 214 sounds richer and has a slightly darker sound that I like. Is it a decent option if you find it on sale?

Its only $62.5/hour. That not crazy at all. Considering level of hand craftsmanship? its almost a bargin.

Absolutely beautiful build !!! 6.4 pounds is almost light enough to have been entered in the "100 ounce challenge" competition that was put on by the guys at Texas Toast Guitars this past August. Looks amazing and sounds even better !!! Cheers !

I’m a blind guitar player, so the sound of the guitar is key. This one sounds pretty good to me. I’m currently saving up for a higher end breedlove concert with a spruce top and murtlewood back and sides . I’ve played the guitar I want, it sounds amazing. Another very good entry level guitar that I highly recommend is the Yamaha fg830 CAN:. I have that guitar and it is quite good. If I can get the breedlove concert I want, that would be so cool.

I have several guitars and the Taylor is what I tend to pick up and play most often. It disappears while I'm playing.

I love the fact manufacturers are probably very aware that people are cutting their guitars open now. Should hopefully push standards up across the board now

I've found that using a brass nut will also enhance the vibrato of the strings regardless of the bridge.

Personally, I don't want to see Gibson disappear; I want them to get their act together. Unfortunately CEO's cannot be shamed into doing the right thing. They will adapt when they have to, and by then it may be too late.

Absolutely stunning. Really fantastic choice of woods for the final colours. And the attention to finish and detail is great to see. Even the bits no-one sees inside the body (because you know its there, right). I'd love to hear it not through digital source converted through KZbin filters etc. It sounds amazing even through all that!

I have a faith guitar designed by the British luthier Patrick James Eggle made in Indonesia, and I would say it would give other £750 guitars a run for their money.

Maple guitars aren't bad, there are just some readily available maple guitars that are just bad guitars, like the Gibson Dove and even a number of SJ-200s (even the good ones thin out up the neck something awful but that's a Gibson thing). Try a Guild F-55 (my favorite guitar ever) or a Boucher Grand Reserve Heritage. No shortage of lows or highs in either guitar plus solid midrange and rich overtones of maple.

I believe that today depends on where are you going with your guitar. Really good soft cases prices are pretty similar of hard cases, but it's easier to carry as on your shoulder. Recently I went to play on Rockin1000 and I took my guitar with its hard shell TSA fender case. It was perfect protection, but since I had to carry the guitar to one place and another and including the amp and pedals I started to think about: "You know what? It's nice to have some hard shell cases, but I believe I need a class S softshell for these moments and simple regular ones for daily bases at home to keep the instrument at least minimum protected." And that is my goal now, to find a really good soft shell case for these situations like Rockin 1000.

Only question I’m left with now is what made you decide on 7 thousandths of an inch of neck relief on this guitar if you normally set it to 4? My assumption is that you had already had to adjust it so much to get it to that 7, and didn’t feel comfortable torquing the truss rod any further?

My 69 FG-300 was bought used for way more than it was worth several years ago. Pickguard was coming off, neck is twisted. I came bere looking for a replacement. After reading comments and watching the video, I think I'll just take the Yamaha to a lurhier finally.

How did you decide on the thickness of the maple cap? As a flat-top I'd expect it to be a little thinner, but that appears to be thinner than the standard Les Paul top?

I haven’t been able to listen to any of this, because I still don’t know what the “paint handles” are? no idea whatsoever. Is it a paint stick to mix your paint? You might want to describe that in the beginning of your video. Because I have no idea what you said past paint handle.

I owned a furniture factory and I made the decision not to run air sanders, even though our film thickness is thicker than a fine guitar. We found that air sanders are to aggressive. It takes a guy with mucho skills to run an air sander. I’m not saying you must change sanders,it’s just what we did. I’m enjoying your videos a lot.

I think a lot of you guys are just too critical of the way a guitar sounds. I realize that playability is the major thing you want from your guitar but the way it sounds is what it is. Granted there are many different things you can do to make it sound better. So when you go to a guitar shop you better play a shit load of them to find the right one.

I love these kind of videos because I have watched many many videos on youtube and just about everyone who reviews a guitar will tell you that guitar is great. Does not matter if the guitar sucks they will all tell you that because everyone is either trying to sell you a guitar and or trying to get one sent to them for free from that company. Thanks for making honest videos.

Just stumbled upon this and I don’t like and yes it will happen naturally overtime and being a luthier myself I find that getting the best tone is just to try different bridges from different materials there’s no need to by an expensive guitar and running saw marks down into the the bridge cause if you get it wrong then your guitar will never be in tune, people don’t try this please

10k really ? Pull my other leg, this ones long enough. The pinned comment tryingvto explain the cost is the funniest part of the story. Just explain how these are even close to that price. Body... ohh thats a grand Neck... theres another Pickup.... ours are wound in space by nasa ghost pirates and hand delivered by bob denver riding a unicorn. Those are 5 grand Those tuning keys are hand poured on a dirt floor by a kid in Tibet and that costs extra too i guess. 150 $ a piece only sold in Barbados and have a strict import tax. The case... another grand. And all that's a bargain from where im sitting. Lol 10,000$
