NewsNet tried hard to emulate CNN Headline News (CNN2) without the resources of a major network behind them. Not only that, their overall presentation was on the low end of a community college TV news show. I'm surprised that FOX, MSNBC, or NewsNation have not come up with their own "Headline News" on a 30 minute news cycle.

Hey, great choice for “Touch Me Baby” by Ultimate to be in the background. (A studio group assembled by producers Juliano Salemi and Bruce Weeden). I think keeping supporting great entertainment should have been prioritized more by the channel, but I know it’s a business. But it would have been great if after the stupid racist homophobic “disco demolition,” media would have rallied to support disco instead of cowardly giving in to the bigots. (That July 1979 uncompleted ball game and riot were destroying Marvin Gaye and Gladys Knight and the Pips records, too; it was not all hatred of disco). I know this last episode did not air, but were there actually any “reruns and stuff” of it? Very cool you had the (slightly pre-) “Urban Cowboy” hat guy dancing with the lady at the start of “Last Dance.” Country and rock fans bashed disco, but I never saw or heard vice versa. Cool how that raincoat guy’s hood suddenly disappeared before we saw he had a partner. The way the last part of “Last Dance” died, and just one person clapping, was a great ending signal pair. I hope everyone got the message and no one thought it was the staff itself giving up on dance and disco. It’s obvious from everything before that everyone there still had the spirit.

Background music during the sponsor promotions is from “My Baby’s Baby” by Liquid Gold. Thanks for the Billy Joel explanation; boy was that “My Life” all over pop radio. The background music next was from Sylvester’s “You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real).” (I loved “Step II” album and his “Stars” album even more.) The dance contest Couple #2 had Dan Hartman’s “Instant Replay.” Heard in bits in the disco visit was of course Sister Sledge “We Are Family” and “Ain’t That Enough For You” by John Davis & the Monster Orchestra. Where was Billy Joel's “Vienna” heard in this?

Cool intro speech! Its background music was from Don Ray’s “Got To Have Lovin’.” (Rest In Peace.) Shaun Cassidy also covered The Young Rascals’ “A Girl Like You” the same year. I confess I was watching one frame at a time during two parts of a re-watch of part of the white dress spinning lady couple portion (gratefulness to her, her guy and the director), but I was thinking respectful thoughts. Excellent dancers and studio setup as always! So nice of you comment to Shanon about loss of her Dad.

I could not find “Music Magic” by Magic on youtube. I wish disco popularity had lasted as long as the interview predicted. Then the next song heard was Glass Family doing “Mr. DJ You Know How To Make Me Dance.” I’m sorry I have misidentified the sound effects sample repeatedly used including at the start of this video. It was not from “The Force” by Stargard. It was from “Rocket Countdown / Blastoff” by The Brothers Johnson (from their third album “Blam!!” From 1978). I’ll edit the correct info into my past comments.

In the 80s people kept assuming Lionel sang lead on “Brick House.” This video clarifies it’s not. Great Commodores interview! I loved “Flying High.” Sorry Mike Goldman was sick. Milwaukee based singer Keedy once wrote me she used to dance to songs like “Ow freak out.” I’m sure she meant Chic’s “Le Freak.” I ended up buying about every Chic item I could find.

Barbra Streisand - “The Main Event / Fight” (in background) You reminded me to try to special order a Pouzzez! album.

Sorry about the crabby grumpy uptight management that would not let you fine and fabulous “Dance” folks handle the cancellation the way you chose to do it. The music was “One Way Ticket” by Eruption (featuring Precious Wilson) (of prior “I Can’t Stand the Rain” fame…cover version of Ann Peebles hit).

Fantastic trio, group song and performance! This is the album version; the shorter instrumental intro of the 45 of this song is a different recording, but it works great with the song, too. (Polydor also did this kind of thing with the single of Peaches & Herb’s “Shake Your Groove Thing.”) The violet turquoise eyeshadow goes perfectly with the outfits. Rest In Peace Delores Marie Warren.

Talented beautiful performers, great outfits and synchronization! I got into Alton McClain & Destiny from the 7 inch and then album version of “It Must Be Love,” but this debut single from before I’d heard of them, was excellent, too. I never understood why some people tried to portray disco as an enemy of soul music, when I always thought they sometimes coexisted perfectly, like here. Seeing them perform, they sure don’t look ashamed of how they are portraying their race, as they know there is nothing wrong with it..

They were very professional and nice to work with. Their moves were so tight, that I shot each song (Crazy Love & It Must Be Love) twice and then mixed between the 2 cuts of each song. You can't tell that I'm using 2 completely different versions because their choreography is so tight.
@bobdavis48485 ай бұрын
@@SteveGriggsChannel Thanks for the further information! Yes, you and they working together made this really smooth and tight, everyone very professional! I could not tell it was different versions.
