we got to that segment . plastic down , mesh on . all chairs in. and over night before the inspector came to sign off on the job. . A wind came up and flipped it all out of the forms . START AGAIN

Great video guys. I’d love to hear more about whether you’re planning to earn a living from the farm, and if so, what do you plan to farm? Are you living there full time?

Thanks for watching! We have another video coming out today that may answer some of your questions. But we will do some more videos giving everyone more details!

I won’t use a skill skill saw in this manner. At least with a hand saw you may cut yourself but not lose a finger. Buying a plane or belt sander is one hell of a lot cheaper than a serious injury. I know of several tradesmen and DIYers who have lost fingers and it is just not worth taking the risk. Also a couple of splinters from the saw without eye protection can cause serious injury. And I have lost enough hearing despite being careful not to use hearing protection But the fence looks really good and I would stain or paint as we put so much effort into it we want it to last and stay looking good.

Seems like a lot of work for a location you could have just adapted to the lay of the land. Just saying because materials are expensive. How is everything in the police state of Australia?

Looks NICE...Need this... is that compressed wood? Are you going to stain it with anything to protect it from water or erosion
@farmsketchventures70173 жыл бұрын
The wood I used is treated pine wood so it will withstand the weather…not forever, but long enough to serve its purpose. It would probably last even longer if I had remembered to put plastic between the wall and the dirt on the high side.
@farmsketchventures70173 жыл бұрын
Sorry, forgot to mention that we won’t stain it at this stage. But will do a video on it if we decide to so you can see how it ends up. 👍

Let me know what you think and we might try again. ---- Sorry about the poor audio everyone. Our go-pro was dying so we have upgraded our cameras for future videos.

How do I prep for a slap in an existing room that already has walls?
@farmsketchventures70173 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your question. I have never tried to lay a slab under those circumstances. It is best to get advice from a professional tradesman local to you for their opinion and to look at the specifics of your job. I find many trades-people are happy to give me tips and advice on how to do a job myself if I ask.

Australia, snow???? Must not be a common thing there, or are I wrong? Nice wall though a tight budget.
@farmsketchventures70173 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah there's a number of places in New South Wales and Victoria that get snow frequently through winter. But our farm is close to Sydney and gets snow only a few times a year as its 1300m above sea level and in the mountains. Everything I do on the farm is always DIY on a tight budget! lol

Australia has Ski resorts mate...The south of austria is lush, and very diverse from outback, deserts, mountains and coastlines, barrier reefs, to tropical rain forest and snow topped mountains. It is huge - damn near its own continent.
