Still have my Ping Fetch putter with the black and red trim I bought a couple of years ago. I love that putter Andrew. I recently added a Golf Pride reverse taper round grip to it. Its turned out to be a good add as has the putter. Its hard to beat the Ping line of putters or any of their other clubs. My golf bag is loaded with the Ping G 425 hybrids and woods. They make playing the game a lot of fun. Recently added the Ping Chip R. Its been a nice add as well. Nice overview of the new putters Andrew. Stay well my friend. Joe

I'm quite happy to pay big bucks for something that will be used around 36 times per round. Drivers, irons and wedges? Maybe not so keen. BTW, I noticed that Ping dropped my Valor from their range and, so help me, it's easily the best putter I've had in 72 years of playing the game.

Great video! How would you compare the to the G430's with the stronger lofts? I watched another video and the guy compared them to the 430's in 5 categories and he ranked the 430's 5/5 giving the G730's 0/5! He compared price, performance etc.

What a great video, thankyou. When you showed the swing with almost no hip movement and just an arms swing I realised thats where I am since I restarted after this winter. I'm 66, a decent player but ball striking is not good right now, this video has given me something to really work on. Many tks man, Russell 🙂

Enjoy your content but not in UK. Fitter didn't have the Tour 2.0 shafts in right length to try for woods. Fitted into Tour 2.0 65S for Driver and 85S for hybrid. He suggested 65S for 3 wood as well but I'm thinking I should go between with the 75S option. Any thoughts ? 100mph Driver SS

How does the s compare to the i59 size wise and ability to hit?

Similar in size, for me the S felt a little more forgiving. Go and hit them both to get the best comparison.

I've ordered the G730 . I've been away from playing for a few years . Former set ISI-s with stiff jz shaft . 25 years later , I'm going graphite , CB black . 5-Uw. I'm giving up the 2,3,&4 . Adding a 50*w and I'll see what other wedges might go with . Wish me luck . Going by static measurements and previous fitting criteria. Should be a week or 2 . Ordered last week . Hoping to adjust to these smoothly . Will update .

Wow!!! Gonna take some practice to dial in . I pured 3 shots with 9 iron . 150 yards and dead at the target . There's an audible click when you pure a shot . Unbelievable . This is gonna be fun , getting back in the game .

Also how much does a pro shop charge for a refub? Don’t want to pay too little (inexperienced tech) or too much (more than I need for my clubs). Average cost?
@andrewainsworth497Ай бұрын
Prices will vary, not all pro shops will offer this service. As a guide would say £10 per club.

Do you also redress (sharpen) the grooves on the heads? Do you recommend this and if so, what is the best tool to use?

I'm 51 and I've been playing golf since I was 9 years old having playing with all kinds of different clubs grew up in the persimmons wood era and I can tell you currently in my bag are old Ben Hogan forged irons for two reasons first they're heavy secondly perfectly balanced and pure..... Swing easy let the heavy club compress the ball and do the work for you
@johnhoie1Ай бұрын
My old MP33s had weaker lofts than these. The 7 iron was 36 degrees and the pitching wedge was 48. I never should have gotten rid of them.

I just bought one of the Ping Chip R"s. I tried it on the course today for the first time and I do like it a lot. I have a Cleveland Smart sole chipper too but I like the Ping even more. I find it easier to hit and pop up in the air with directionality towards the hole. A new club for 2024 season. Great review as always Andrew. Joe

I own a Kotahi on a Honu putter and would love to use it but according to 3.b2 and 3.b2ii the USGA and RNA rules they are saying it is non-conforming because of the definition for the word concavity in rule 3b(2)ii. It seems that the word concavity replaced "among other things". 3.b(2) - Putters As clearly stated in this clause, a putter grip may have a non‑circular cross-section, provided that, among other things, the cross-section remains generally similar throughout the length of the grip. (ii) A putter grip may have a noncircular cross-section, provided the cross-section has no concavity, is symmetrical and remains generally similar throughout the length of the grip. (See Section 3b(ii) explanation in the interpretations). Concavity The concavity of the graph of a function refers to the curvature of the graph over an interval; this curvature is described as being concave up or concave down. Generally, a concave up curve has a shape resembling "∪" and a concave down curve has a shape resembling "∩" as shown in the figure below. Why is it Illegal?
@andrewainsworth497Ай бұрын
No idea, maybe put these questions to the manufacture of the grips.
@natevoss91992 ай бұрын
Just bought these. I dont care about what a club looks like, its all performance for me. I have had nothing but TM. I hit these the best it had nothing to do with money, I would of paid more for the cobras, for my swing they crushed everything else I hit in every way.

This is some brilliant work Andrew. I had almost forgotten about this excellent equipment manufacturer that was popular in the 90s and eary 2000s. Originally Yonex was made in Japan, now I assume it is China like everything else.
@carlcampbell68272 ай бұрын
I remember years back, Yonex would ship you a set of 4 irons for demo. They were impressive; not budget priced.
@andrewainsworth4972 ай бұрын
Hi Carl, Yonex have been a the forefront of technology over the years making some amazing products way ahead of their time. Over here in the UK they seemed to loose their way and have ended up with great products that most golfers will never buy. Great shame.

I never really suffered badly with chipping/pitching until recently. For some reason I have really gone "off the boil". Picked up a V300 Slazenger chipper from Sports Direct (£14.99) to try it and I have to say I love it. Really improved my game again.

Cutting the shafts doesn't change anything about the putter..rubish...you will adjust to it ..Do you think they put on different putter heads according to the length of the shaft??? Of course not...

I have a BB that I got when they first came out. I've used other oversized drivers, but I wouldn't trade mine for anything.
@waywardwest2 ай бұрын
I would definitely get these in the retro spec. It's totally ridiculous how manufacturers have jacked the lofts to the point where the gap wedge is required and a 3 iron is mostly useless due to loft and the popularity of hybrids. I can remember when club manufacturers started moving to stronger lofts in the late 80s-90s. Pros constantly criticized them for making the pitching wedge way too strong at 48 degrees. Many resisted carrying 4 wedges to cover all the distance gaps. Fast forward to today and you'll see that most players have 1 or 2 hybrids and 4 wedges in their bags. It's almost as if the numbered irons are just filling the distance gaps between the scoring clubs at both ends of the bag.
