Great to see you wetting the mat before you measure your fish, there are far too many KZbin fisherman out there that put their captures straight onto a hot deck and stuff around for a few minutes taking pictures of everything they catch. What people don't realize is that a hot deck kills the slim on the fishes side hence opens them up to infection and they die. Same goes with not putting them straight back into the water without reviving them properly. Anyway cheers Mick for using common sense and promoting the sport of fishing with a conscience as to the well being of the resource.

@@phillloyd80 it’s the only way mate, way too hot up here not to!! I try to swim fish off where I feel safe to do so but there’s a lot of bitey things so unless I’m 100% sure it’s safe I’ll be quick as possible then spear them off…

If you don’t stuff around I recon the spear is better anyway, quick flush of oxygen through the gills does them good I recon

Hey mate, do you adjust your contrast when you’re running along mud vs rock? I’m having trouble picking fish out along the rock bars but I’m thinking it’s to do with the contrast. Running a gt56 too.
@Micksgonefishing10 күн бұрын
I’m forever adjusting brightness and contrast to suit different water clarity and substrates to get the best image, too grainy, drop the contrast, highlights too blown out drop the brightness and vise versa 👌🏻

Another great vid mate. One thing i notice whenever i watch your vids is your mix of species is way different to the ones we catch on the west coast. We tend to get heaps more Rankin cod, red throat emperor (sometimes in absolute plague proportions) and grassy emperor than you guys. I also dont really ever see you catch bluebone. I wonder if thats because you guys have different coral species there (we dont have the coral that causes ciguatera for that matter).
@Micksgonefishing17 күн бұрын
It's crazy how different the fish are even just down the coast let alone across the country! We gotta go find that clean water for red throat, very rarely get them inshore!
