I’ve been enjoying it too! I closed the last 2 days of the season trying to get a big one on fly but didn’t get the result…

Mick, the electrics that you are running have managed to change fishing now into hunting. Being able to spot the fish and see the direction they are travelling is akin to changing from open sights to telescopic sight in shooting. Great episode and brilliant to be able to target the fish that you want. What a great way to celebrate your birthday.

It’s definitely a game changer but it’s a different set of skills in its own..

Nice vid mate, what sounders and scope setup you running on your boat now? Looks abit updated than previous
@Micksgonefishing2 ай бұрын
Yeah it’s had a full revamp and I’ve been using it alot more this year.. I wasn’t confident in the previous setup and it was a hassle to setup where as this new setup is easy to deploy! I’ll do a video on it soon but I’ve upgraded both screens to 8416 and got RodTek to fit out the attachments, it’s dialed in now!

Hey Mick, what brand of livescope pole are you using please, looks very neat, and tidy.cheers mate,
@Micksgonefishing2 ай бұрын
I’m running a RodTek Pole Dancer pole. It’s a lot thinner than my old one which has a lot less drag when fishing in strong tides like we have here!

I got no issue with using live scope, always take advantage of any advancements in technology, otherwise we’d all still be using hand lines or bamboo rods and spears. BUT it doesn’t make great content imo it takes all of the suspense out of it, I still watch it though haha.
@Micksgonefishing2 ай бұрын
Hahah thanks mate! But I’ll just say that as the angler, this turns randomly casting through an area and “fishing”, into hunting a particular fish that you can see its movements and preempt its behavior to get a bite. In the shallows I’m fishing here it’s not like the deep water in the Fitzroy or an impoundment, so I rarely see where my lure is. To me, the angler, there is a lot of suspense as I rely on my setup to present a lure to fish I can see but I can’t see if you know what I mean… it’s not easy is what I’m trying to say! I’m glad you liked the video, but I’d just like you to realize that this in itself is a different set of skills needed that compliment fishing ability, it’s far from cheating or easy that some people like to call it…
@scowy_sg21252 ай бұрын
@ tbh I had realised after I commented it was a lot different to what I’ve been seeing of those big 130 barras in the fitzroy.. on another note when you get some time or a big stint of shit weather. Or all these reef and macky closures. Do a gear video mainly rods and reels I see you customize a few different reels for different situations. Would be interesting to watch an in depth vid. I’m mainly into the blue water jigging etc but I’ve learnt a bunch off you and others so keep it up bunj 👌🏽
