If you know they are all from the same lot it is okay to dump them all out. Lot to lot variation is a real issue. I bought a few cases of Belom 7.62x39 ammo along with a few boxes for practice so I don’t need to break the cases open I intend to stock. One of the boxes I received was from another lot and there’s a point of impact shift shooting the ammo from another lot.

Based on my personal experience with .22 rimfire and several different rifles, I try to shoot what any of my shoot best in each of them. This may mean that next year I will be shooting a different load than I am this year. Looks like I need to give that range pack stuff a trial. I love 22 rimfire rifles, but finding good rifle/ammo combos is very frustrating at times; there are so many variables that it can be tough on your psyche.

As long as you are happy with your system for storing ammo and you keep it dry and more or less temperature regulated it does not matter how you store it.

The only difference is organizational. If the gasket isn’t working, both ammo will be rusted over all the same. Boxes = you know which round came from which batch which can be useful for malfunctions. Loose = more space.
