Step One: Preheat to desired temp before putting components in..(Can take a while depending on power and size of unit) Step Two: Run ultrasonic bath empty with only cleaning liquid and demineralized water in it for ten minutes to allow for degassing Step Three: Put in Components and turn on timer for ultrasonic cleaning! This will give you a more effective cleaning!

The video guy is obviously an idiot that doesn’t do research or even glance at the instructions

I just got mine and haven’t even fired it up yet. I did watch a few good tips & tricks videos, and one great tip is put your parts in zip lock bag with the solvent, and only put water in the machine. Guess it saves on solvent waste (the good stuff ain’t cheap) and zero clean up!👍🏻

I bought one of these from Harbor Freight and use it with slip 2000 ultrasonic cleaner. It works great. I just hope it holds up over the long run. Time will tell.

I’ve been happy with it so far, true, only time will tell if they hold up

That stuff is $50 per gallon and is NOT concentrated. It says to pour the entire contents into ultrasonic cleaner.. Don't get me wrong I love Slip2000 stuff, but their ultrasonic cleaner doesn't sound economical at all. What am I missing??

Nice, I was looking at getting one of these for the same purpose. I got some C&R guns that could use a good bath.

Have you, or could you, measure the actual Wattage of your ultrasonic cleaner. My cleaner is listed as 180 watts for the ultrasonic transducers. When I measure it with a Kill-a-Watt meter using only the ultrasonic function of the cleaner, it measures between 110 and 135 watts. I would be interested in knowing what your model is rated as and the actual power consumption. You posted a great video and I appreciate the information you provided.

Using gloves while handling the parts and cleaning solution should be recommended. Even if the cleaning solution isn't toxic the stuff coming off the parts might contain toxins.

Used mine last week with simple green. It took the paint right off the charging handle.

Yeah I would only put aluminum stuff in for a brief time, or use a different compound for that stuff

Saw a comment on another video saying to use simple green hd as that’s a little less aggressive. It’s the purple one.

Most reviewers assumed the temperature readout was Fahrenheit and was 100 plus the number. Did the instructions specify Celsius?

I threw the instructions away a while ago, but I believe I figured it out by taking the advertised temp range (which was in Fahrenheit) and converted it to Celsius, and that matched up with the range that the machine displayed. Not a 100 percent guarantee but since it was made in china it seemed logical

If I get around to it I’ll run it up to a certain temp and verify with a thermometer

I go to about 150° on metal parts. Guns get hot when you shoot, so I see no reason not to

Simple green is environmentally friendly so with enough dilution you can run it through the storm sewer (double check me on that one before you do it yourself)
