I heard what James Cameron said and remain pragmatically guided by it. At the very least, Titan should have had a twin hull - inner and outer - by it's design it was a monohull! If there was an external hull failure, then it made survival unlikely. I also accept that whilst composit fibre hulls of submarines can survive up to a thousand feet - anything more than that is extremely risky and hazardous! Seals can be rendered more vulnerable the deeper you go! Hull failure is the outcome. And tragically, that situation cost the lives of three British Isles nationals!

What the hull was the issue with a solid titanium pressure shell ? Photo shows the crews. bodies were probably instantly compressed into a few inches space in a millisecond.
