Good morning, dear Sir, I watched your very good videos carefully, because I have an identical Hornet which runs on 3 cylinders... This is the 1st cylinder, which despite the spark from the spark plug, remains cold in the exhaust! (According to the digital infrared thermometer). This is a motorcycle that has not been ridden for more than six years, and has been stored who knows how. I tried carburetor and gasoline cleaners, without result; replacement of spark plugs, filters, etc. I will probably have to clean the carbs like yours, to remedy this perhaps... If not, do you have another solution please? A+ B

Good video, I need to do this with mine as it is exactly the same on the pilot jets on the 3rd carb. Not sure whether to tackle it myself or to get a shop to do it. I am mechanically minded but not sure how I would get on with this.

Little update. I decided to have a go at them myself, as I knew it only needed the jets cleaning. Stripped and cleaned and out back together last night. Wouldnt start. Went back to it this morning. Started straight away, to her down the road and running beautifully again. Thanks for the video.

anyone here knows the standard size main jets on these? I have a hornet 600 that faul plugs, after about 1 hour of driving, if you rev it it smokes black, does not burn oil, cleaned carbs many times, tried changing seals, jets, float valve so on, but only with the size already in it, its using #114 size jets, and i don't think those are correct. i read somewhere its suppose to be #108 on cyl 1 and 4, and #110 on 2 and 3, but im not sure, and 108 seems to be hard to get

@adamkozolka69818 ай бұрын
had the same issue yesterday with my Hornet (probably never had the carbs off as well, 60k km on odometer), you just gotta use force
@jcandy57998 ай бұрын
The factory service manual says to loosen the clamps at the carb side of the rubber mounts, and that is what I did. Could not get them off. I then re-tightened those clamps and loosened the clamps at the engine side, and the carbs came right off. Parts are getting hard to find here in the States, they only imported them in 04 and 06.@@adamkozolka6981

Hi, I‘ve also got a Hornet PC34. Last week, as I was riding, it started to stutter and died. I somehow tried starting it with the choke, it did but only for a few seconds. I towed it back home and noticed, anytime I crank it, petrol leaks from where the manifold connects to the exhaust. Opened it, cranked and gas splashed out. Cleaned the wet spark plugs, got it started, but keeps on stuttering and dying. Any idea what it could be ?
@davidmustard2583 Жыл бұрын
All I can think of is that the float valves are not shutting off and flooding the engine. To test this see if you can start the engine with the petrol turned off. If it runs ok for a while, try turning the petrol on and see if it causes it to die. Hope this helps. Dave

If it's the mixture screws you are talking about, turn them in, one at a time, gently untill they stop. Make a note of how many turns in you turn it. This is how many turns out Which you need to turn that screw out when you set it up. The workshop manual should give you a guide it the carbs have been messed with. Hope this helps. Dave
