So I take it that according to this promo back in 1967/68, KGO-TV had ABC's Evening report w/Bob Young at 6:30 followed by Roger Grimsby with Bay Area news at 7pm?!

I was at Santa Teresa Elementary School when this earthquake happened. The shaking was so hard. After the school was evacuated, we saw smoke rising from the shopping center a couple blocks away. The auto parts store caught on fire right after the earthquake.

I'm here because I read a article about this Man in the Metro. The article was a very interesting read, apparently DJ Dennis is a Pioneer DJ who was somewhat spicy on the air with his fans but always had an intelligent sense of humor. He was emulated by Howard Stern and later Opie and Anthony. San Jose has a very interesting history I don't think most people in the Bay Area even know about. Dustin Diamond, the actor from Saved by the Bell is from San Jose. I didn't know Togo's started in San Jose, didn't know Nikki Sixx from Motley Crue is from here, didn't know the late rapper Coolio lived in San Jose for a while, didn't know about some Western Amusement park was in San Jose, hell I didn't even know that me an Dionne Warwick had no clue where San Jose even was.

Did anyone ever catch that late night commercial Tony did for KFOG (San Francisco), back when they were still easy listening? "When you want to relax, you listen to me... and you listen to KFOG, San Francisco" and then that foghorn sound.

I also grew up watching Pete Giddings giving the news report on KGO when an unfortunate time, while on air, he had a nosebleed! Live on air but handle it like the true professional he was! Sure miss those days.. life was much better than as 2023.. not nearly as good.. 😢

In the performance I saw, Yul Brynner had to ad lib due to one of the kids making a mistake. You could see him struggling to stay in character, audience loved it. He may have been 5'8", but he looked like a much bigger man, even from where I sat.
