Yes, he did smoke and drink......but sadly, these dangerous drugs have been accepted as a social norm for many generations. Its hard to change long held social habits,but accepting new dangerous drugs into society is insanity. Michael Landon recognised this and openly admitted it. I agree with his stand against creating new, dangerous socially acceptable poisonous habits.:-{xx
