Can you connect various tc helicón pedals with no issues? Cause they have phantom power always on, and also the impedance, since they don’t have line inputs…
@MikeAshelby
@MikeAshelby 10 ай бұрын
Yes, they chain together without issues. All nicely balanced, no issues with the phantom. For a time I used the three together.

The difference between a harmony pedal and live backing singer(s) is you can't get away with being slightly off, if you are off tune then the harmonies will follow your voice and any spurious sounds you might make and duplicate them in harmony. Good backing singers however will not do this and to some extent will mitigate your mistakes. In other words you have to sing well in tune without any strange spurious noises.

Such a good point. I would never suggest this is a replacement for great backing singers. I actually find I need to sing with the tone of a backing singer to get the best out of the pedal: otherwise it sounds like 3 lead singers fighting for the front spot. I have found it quite good for thickening harmonies, or providing 3 part bvs by myself. It's good fun.

@@MikeAshelbyThanks for that reply. I understand your point about singing with the tone of a backing singer e.g. singers like Johnny Cash or Bob Dylan would have some trouble with an harmonizer pedal.

Absolutely incredible and brilliantly sang and controlled, I'm only just after buying this unit, I'm a one man band but use backing tracks from my ipad straight to the desk, somebody told me I can actually get this unit to follow the backing tracks played and not having to worry if I play a bum note or chord on my guitar and let your voice do the work, but how do i actually go about setting this process up, as I said I only just bought this second hand, but I think it will be a huge boost to my live shows if set up right, I can play guitar and keyboards but yes there are times we all can strike a wrong chord under pressure, can you give me any info how I go about this, and thank you in advance
@MikeAshelby
@MikeAshelby Жыл бұрын
Thanks! Glad you like it. It's a great unit. To be honest, I would just run the track into the guitar-in and use it that way. I don't still have it, but it should work that way. I know what you mean about bum chords: easily done! I hope that's some help. Enjoy!

This demo convinced me to get one. I was aiming for the Harmony Singer (The latest version), but come to hear it, there's not much of a difference when it comes to the quality of the harmony. The only difference is the Harmony Singer has that Tone button and some reverb, which is a nice touch to it. This demo is legit. Already used my H1 and it sounds fantastic.

Mike...I strictly want to use this for vocals. Would people Just buy it for that reason? I don't play guitars, I play keyboards and synths which I don't need any pedals for those. But I just want to spice up the vocals is why I am asking! Thanks in advance if you or anyone else can reply!
@MikeAshelby
@MikeAshelby Жыл бұрын
Yes. It would work well for that. You could take a feed from your keyboards to recognise the chords for the vocal harmonies in much the same way as it works for the guitar.

If this pedal can do one octave up and one octave down, what's the difference between this and D1 (the doubler)? I mean, buying this you have also the D1 features
@MikeAshelby
@MikeAshelby Жыл бұрын
It doesn't do unison or octaves, only harmonies (3rd and 5th up and down), so there is a difference in their features.

Hi there, sorry, do i need a guitar for the H1? Or the pedal recognize the key in my voice for the harmony?
@MikeAshelby
@MikeAshelby 2 жыл бұрын
Without a guitar you can set it up a fixed key. This is fine, and works well, but there's less flexibility with the harmonies. If you're singing an E in the key of C major, the harmonies could be C and G over a G chord, or C and A over an Am chord, or G and B over an Em chord.

What's the difference between the doubler and the harmony pedals?
@MikeAshelby
@MikeAshelby 4 жыл бұрын
The double ads a copy of your vocal singing the same melody. It has ways to trick the brain into thinking it's more than one voice, which helps thicken the sound. The harmony pedal copies and moves your vocal to a harmony note based on the chord you're playing or the key it's set to.
@c0pyimitati0n
@c0pyimitati0n 4 жыл бұрын
@@MikeAshelby interesting.. Probably wouldn't want to use the harmony pedal for metal style vocals then would you?
@MikeAshelby
@MikeAshelby 4 жыл бұрын
@@c0pyimitati0n I don't know: depends on the style. Some metal works great with big harmonies! That said, doubling might be the thing to help vocals compete with big guitars.
