@Spacetetra That has got to be one of the weirdest combinations. I'd have to do a bunch of searching to even guess at the set list, but I can easily say that I definitely would have come away wanting more from Renaissance!

TBH, this version with a complete different line-up comparing to the original of 1977 ist not bad, surely different musicians and of course Annie's voice is growing older too, but still great and awesome. And again chapeau for this new band she got and the sound. Renaissance was one of my all time favorite ProgRock bands starting in 1972 with the album Prologue ! And "A song for all seasons" is tbh my all-time favorite song of Renaissance, always was !!

Annie this is simply magnificent. The filming is brilliant, sort of mystifying with the tree having saw better days and that big dish appearing in backgrounds. Maybe I get it wrong but as if you're mother Earth's proxy, very beautiful woman singing out to the people and perhaps the heavens. Not sure how I'm to read the contract of nature and technology in the video. All this digital technology is overwhelming and its definitely both fantastic and quite the opposite all at the same time. I've always wished I could compose. I've been told I'm wonderful with words and poetry but composition has always evaded me and I did try long back. I've much creative talent yet only in certain areas and within those its either head or heart if you know what I mean.

As an Englishman, I feel ashamed that this amazing band were not appreciated given the recognition for the great force they were. Apart from Northern Lights, most of their music never got the airplay they deserved. I should say though in the seventies and into the early eighties the UK had very few radio stations. In London for example you only had the music stations BBC Radio 1 (pop), BBC Radio 2 (easy listening) and Capital Radio (commercial playlist pop with a few specialist programmes thrown in for the evening) and in the late seventies it was punk and new wave that was getting airtime.

Lovely, amazing, maravilhosa...BUT, I think Annie respected too much the original arrangement. I'd love to see an actual Reinassance version of this Jobim Classic.

Why are the keyboardists sitting? Are they too damn old to stand? I could understand sitting at a grand piano. Guess they don't care. It's the difference between just playing and performing.
@ChrisEchoesАй бұрын
Their main keyboardplayer, John Tout, also used to sit down playing grand piano, organ and various other keyboards. Also their main composer and acoustic guitarplayer Michael Dunford also usually sat on a stool. The only two standing were Annie Haslam and their bassplayer Jon Camp.
