Great info on winter checks and feeding. Sure hope you’re up to 100% on your health and in time for this weekend at STL. And of course, God’s blessings on the full time family business for you and your family!!

Hi from central Otago 👋. You don't sound like a teenage boy you sound like a New Zealander😂🤣which means we all sound like sick north Americans😖😳 sooo, going full time Beekeeping eh 🥳my condolences 😳 🤣 nah, it's awesome you guys have grown your operation to that point, brilliant 👍 definitely lots going on down here in upsidedown land, 90 degrees F 🥵 wasps ( you call them yellow jackets)bothering hives so I've had to squeeze down all my entrances 😬 but the bee's are sorting the wasps out now. Very odd to have wasp problems so early, normally it's late March and April. Love hive alive fondant, it's expensive here but unbeatable for spring building. Great video and nice timekeeping save from Mom at the start of the video 😂👋🐐( yeah I just had to drop a goat 🐐 in there) and congratulations on going full time Beekeeping 🥳🤣👍

Hilarious that you added fondant to a hive you indicated was heavy on stores! Another KZbinr falls victim to hive alive

Nah, I don't hear a teenage boy but that is funny, rolling over here! lol Glad to hear your family is now full time beekeepers. It's exciting to hear your selling nucs! I highly recommend a deposit, too many people back out if you don't lock in the sale. It's very frustrating to think you have nucs sold then to contact the customer and them tell you they already got bees. GRRRRR!!! I don't think the fondant is expensive when you consider the cost of sugar and your time. The bees love that stuff and it helps keep them healthy. I love the rotors for hive top weighs, good idea!!

I notice that you removed most of one side of the HiveAlive envelope while the manufacturer says you should remove only about 4 inches of the envelope to prevent the fondant from drying. Do you have problems with the fondant drying out?

Your Dad must have changed rotors on auto at some point. They do hold lids down well but watch when you put hand in hole to move. Never know

yeah the owner of the property put those on for us on a really windy day cause all the lids were blowing off. but I did notice how its a little sketchy to put your hand there haha

It’s nice to see that I’m not the only one who will use a brake rotor to hold down lids lol. How many hives do you all run and did you loose any over this past cold snap?
@BeekeepingWithNatalee

haha yeah its a quick fix for lids flying off! we run about 100 right now and Ive found a few dead outs but nothing to bad but we still got a month or two of this cold so we will see.

Its been in the 60's here, i put out some syrup to open feed a little. Most times i wouldnt but as warm as it is and as much as they are flying they are gonna burn up a lot of food, plus they are gonna find soda cans and stuff anyway and i'd rather them to go to the syrup than go through the trash somewhere. Maple is just around the corner too.

You can use your med green drone frames in a deep box. They will just add a couple inches of drawn comb to the bottom which would normally be drones anyhow.

Only problem I really see with that is the bees draw out the comb at a 15 degree angle so the nectar does not run out. If they draw it out upside down and you turned it over, the nectar would leak out of the cells LOL

Hi cold people from southern New Zealand where its currently 34 Celsius (94 degrees F) 🥵 but if it makes you feel better ive just finished trying, and i emphasize that word, to extract one of the hobbyists I'm helping three year old honey that he hasn't been able to extract 🤦 and theres no air conditioning in the extracting shed😂🥵 yeah , it sucked. Crystalised honey is the worst😬 glad you guys had a great time at the conference, i saw a video of it with a gaint kamon card cutout in the background 😂 summer busy here. I would never😏 pay Natalee out about the goat thing... 🐐 ( Psst, Natalee, its a goat👉 🐐)😂

" Just a girl" LOL I still think I would find some bricks or rocks and level up the pallets. Feeders especially work better when they are level. The biggest problem with livestock is they tend to use the hives as scratching posts and end up knocking them over by rubbing against them.

Just opinions... I think no edit videos showcase your knowledge and your skills as a beekeeper, secure in your environment while the editing will show your youtuber skills and probably helps with future marketing.. idk because i havent edited, ever but when you talked about the spring season as chaos and never ending work, and i think that sounds like editing. At least with the bees you know the season will end so you can do your best and when its over you know you did your best, but with art we often never get it perfect, just as good as we can in the time we have so give yourself small deadlines that ad up to your production date and do your best. Your parents are top notch so dont brush off their suggestions they make, they are your biggest fans. Thank you all

Young lady I've been following you since my wife and I met you and your dad at Kamon's first Hive Life. And we met again when you all came to Tulsa. We love how you keep it real, with remarks about falling in the snow 😅 Anyway, Facebook had perfect timing with a commercial when you wanted to open, hoping they wouldn't fly up at you.
