Excellent video! You have better uncapping technique at 16 than I have at 36! I have no doubt your extraction setup will continue to grow

Another positive for the way you use the capping fork is that you get fewer wax particles in your filter. Less plugging of the filter means less headache.

Great video! I loved watching the step by step video with your process. I agree with Natalie, honey extraction does "suck!" 🤣 I like ours to go as quickly as possible. This was the reason we changed our process this year. We are not to the point of a full equipment line either, but adding some key pieces can dramatically save time and manpower. I like our clarifier, pump, and putting everything in food grade plastic barrels to finish settling until it goes in food grade buckets! Great job, Natalie and mom!!

Hello from Holly Hillco does have wax capping bags you can spin on the extractor. You might need a few of them😂.

Great job Natalee! I also have lots of John's products. Game changer this year was the honey clarifier tank. So much easier and more efficient to strain the honey only after running it through the clarifier. I'm still working out of my garage though.........LOL

If you don’t want the capping wax, suggest to use a heat gun to melt off the capping. It only needs a very quick puff of the hot air to pop the capping and melt it into a ring around the cell. Much quicker and less messy. Seems not to make a difference when the bees re-use the super in the next season.

Hi Natalee, is better don't squezee the wax. You could make mead or vinegar and then melt and clear the wax, but if you prefer. Thanks for your video.

Thanks for the great explanations in this video, but I’m too old for all this work, that’s why I’m using only my capping extruder, no more spinners, wax moths treatment, etc. wax goes straight away in the solar melters to be reused on the clean steamed plastic frames. Greetings from south Europe

Hi, great video!! Are you going to install a small window air conditioner in that window behind you? You could extract honey in the cool that way!! Do you have space to process your comb honey in there, too?

A little work but I use an apple cider press after the cappings drain in the uncapping tank I fill it and squeeze the honey out. Amazing how much honey you can squeeze out.

Strainers... not filters. If you call those filters you can't label your honey as "raw, unfiltered" honey
@kamonreynolds
@kamonreynolds 18 күн бұрын
Nothing annoys a content creator more than the technical police. Since we are being technical, I run my Honey thru a filter BUT like many strainers it isn't fine enough to strain the pollens out. I don't heat it and it is just as healthy, and sells just fine without unfiltered on the label. I just don't run the risk of frass, wood particles, chunks of wax getting into my jars, and also enjoy slower crystallization due to the lack of particulate matter. The girl is extracting honey at 16 by herself and making 30 min long videos I think a technicality can slide

@@kamonreynolds I comment because i care. I have been a subscriber for years and think she does a great job. I am not trying to be the "technical police" or be negative, but with all the news about honey being the #2 adulterated food and how it is "filtered" to make it shelf stable all being negative things using an inaccurate term matters. Yes, we (the beekeeping community) all know what she means, and how many of us haven't called those silly things filters at some point. I am not a "content creator" and I know it isn't easy, but once the content is out there you don't get to choose who views it or how they use it. If I have "annoyed" Natalee, or Mike Berry, or you Kamen i sincerely apologize.
