Great video Ben, would be great to see you back on YT but understand your reasonings why you’re not. The NC500 has taken some of the gloss off Applecross, but none of them will get past the transmitter.

Ben, The whole (○vid thing was BS. I was trapped within a 3 mile radius in the city of Glasgow, and I got made redundant. Good to see you highlight the Ochils, my favourite place for hiking.

First off, WOW. Thank you for creating and sharing this video. But I finally have to ask - I've watched it ~10 times....and....well...discounting the rectangular light that turns on from a window on the bottom left at 26:14, can you comment on the star that seems to live below the cloud cover, which blinks in and out during the storm (after ~15min mark)? Or the lights on the ground (left side) at the beginning, which disappear and return at the the end, along with more lights on the ground to the right? Again, I've watched this video many times;- I keep trying to make sense of it and I'm flat out of ideas. Take the 'star' out of the equation, for example. Are the rest of the lights on the ground the lights of a nearby town, pipeline, or other infrastructure? Or, are all just reflections on the window you're filming through? Thanks for your help on this one. Best, Matt

Think there is too much obsession in Scotland with hillwaking = Munro bashing....it's not...most of the walkin I've done in Scotland has been sub 2500ft and have had lots of immense and interesting and strenuous walks..rivers glens small hills coastal...so much to see and the views from so called lesser hills can be superb. Don't limit your walkin to tickin off hills like some trainspotter...when people refer to hills as Munros ,Corbetts and Grahams etc it makes me bloody cringe!....classic phrases..."I've got those 2 Grahams to do over there"...arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!

Allt nan Uamh stream cave (ANUS to the spelunkers) is Scotlands longest, in the same area as the Bone Caves. it has a 60x40x90m cave chamber,. big enough to fit the Usher Hall. That's a technical system don't mess about there

Weird how geography can play such a crucial role in thunderstorms. This kind of storm, a mesoscale convective system used to be quite common in Aberdeenshire, typically one night a year like this when I grew up there. Am I right in thinking though this was the thunderstorms that eventually did reach Aberdeenshire and led to the Stonehaven train crash?

Hi Ben - Sandwood Bay was on our list last summer after watching your video years ago. We absolutely loved it! After 4 trips to Scotland over the last 8 years Sandwood Bay probably one of my favorite places alongside Three Sisters & Bidean Nam Bian in Glencoe. We didn't want to leave the beach was my tell on how wonderful the place was. The last 1/2 mile of Dunes before you reach the beach were just huge and so stunning. We really enjoyed the walk in past some highland cows, sheep, and lovely lochs, but no doubt the massive beach was the main attraction with blue waters and a sea stack. We found no trash on the beach except an area near the dunes around the middle of the beach where it appears someone has designated it as a spot to gather any trash washed ashore. Not ideal but it was rather tidy and contained given the beach is over a mile long. Lovely solitude as only a few other groups came and went while we there. Thank goodness there is no road as you mentioned, it's amazing you still have places like this in the World, thank you to the John Muir Trust. Hope you post a new video soon Ben as we have gotten some other great ideas from you such as Plucks Glen. We will be returning to Scotland again next Summer and look forward to finding more amazing locations.

there is a short cut off Innerdounie Hill through the trees....its actually a hidden path ....directly south of the trig point...on bing/google maps looks like a slight fire break....look like a dark sort of line...it comes out at a proper firebreak.
