I've dental implants in for over a year and the first 7 -8 months my speech was perfect but now I've developed a slight lisp which I'm being told is due to my gums shrinking a little little.. any ideas on how to solve this. Thanks and BTW yours look amazing 😊

A couple months ago I went in for a new top plate and bottom plate and I already had 2 implants on bottom from about 10 years ago. I have just had one fitting and I absolutely hated them so much I haven't been back yet. I have had a couple top plates made b4 but did not turn out this way. My first set was immediately put back in after others pulled. This is the first bottom I have had. I can not stand them. Looks nothing like I had. They stick out like you said yours did, I can't talk, they totally look like donkeys mouth 🤦‍♀️ as far as the teeth stick out. Like I said I haven't been back yet. Im going back but idk when. Thanks for your video. Btw, any advice would be greatly appreciated.. any advice on how to keep bottom in as well🥹

I'm TOTALLY blessed, I left my husband of 30yrs 🙌 HOORAY!!!! I got a great new apartment, great job and started my NEW life. I'm a disabled Veteran and have been on pain meds for over a decade. ALL my teeth fell out, I literally had 9 rotten teeth left in my mouth. CAN'T EAT ANYTHING that isnt MUSH. Every morning I was in tears, couldn't smile EVER to embarrassed. I don't know about anybody else, but when I talk to anyone the first thing I noticed is their teeth. I was actually using those stupid beads to fill in the holes.. BIG PAIN in the ASS. Contacted VA was denied dental because I'm not 100% disabled. I was totally crushed. Everything was going great except for my appearance. Than one day my VA sponsor, got me a application with the Wounded Warriors fund. This was unbelievable, I've been totally blessed by God once again. I was approved due to ny situation. In November I had ALL my nasty teeth REMOVED and next week I will get my implants . I thank God EVERYDAY and my dentist is literally MY GUARDIAN ANGEL, he has totally changed my life.❤

One BIG fact is missing! I got immediate dentures and I highly recommend them! Right after extractions I was so HAPPY! I felt so beautiful! I thought I was going to feel maimed. That is how I would have felt without them. Another important factor is I have a hard time TALKING without them! I just started using adhesive after 4 weeks. I find powder adhesives super easy to use. As my gums shrink BONE shards are erupting. I had a soft RELINE and they fit around my shards so they no longer hurt. Mine are custom immediate dentures. I am not sure if all immediates are so make sure you check. Good luck!

Regarding dentures, most people are waiting too long with getting their teeth pulled. The main problem with dentures is damaged bone and gum by bad teeth. When i was 40 my teeth needed some repair, root canals, crowns and 2 bridges. This would have been very expensive. My bone was still in perfect shape. So i decided to get all my teeth pulled for getting full dentures. After the first few month of adjustment i was able to eat all things i have eaten before. And now, after 20 years of wearing dentures my bone is still in perfect shape and als my gum. I never did regret the decision to go for full dentures.

Wow you hit what I feel about this. My bottom teeth are the biggest problem. I’ve got two teeth and I tried a partial no way it hurts. I can’t get it to feel right so I just don’t use it. They want to put 2 to 4 implants on the bottom arch for a clip on denture. The prices are outrageous insurances ridiculous I know the right way would be all on 4. But I don’t wanna spend the amount

Immediate dentures aren’t more expensive. My immediates are free and so are my adjustments. I get free immediates because I chose signature. Signatures come with immediate at no extra cost.

I used to chew gum…Freedent. Was very good. Since I haven’t in years, not sure they even make it anymore. I lost my upper teeth due to extremely poor judgment by an dentist when I was 18. Now at 79, it’s been borderline hell for years. Too much bone loss for implants without bone grafts. Wish a way would be found to grow bone naturally!

Did you ever experience any bone loss from the implants????

And also the people who brag about never getting a cavity.... And most of the times they hardly brush

Thanks fo posting this and opening the comments for experiences. I'm in the process of research as I will need full teeth replacement and I'm not even 40 yet!! I can't think of anything worse than spending the next 40 years with cheap dentures. I can't afford implants here in New Zealand, I had an extraction yesterday and it cost near $400 for one tooth . So I'm keen to hear stories of those long term all on 4 wearers as there's heaps of positive reviews about the initial consults etc but keen to know the long term plan .. ie how many visits back etc etc... I'd be looking at Thailand, Cambodia I think ... 🙏🏽

I got the immediate 1 week ago and am currently in the "shrinkage" phase. They are flopping around in my mouth now. Thankfully, i have an appointment next week.

It's been a week and as you said, the first week (during the swelling) they fit like a glove. Now, I've tried to soldier through but the pain is nearly unbearable. I have an appointment with the dentist next week to discuss my options. They hurt too bad to wear AND I'm ready for some real food.🙏🏾

As I’m sat here typing this I’m nursing a nasty abscess, I’m at the dentist in the morning. Antibiotics first I think. And then arrange for the extraction. 😊

I had skin cancer on my face and have a huge scar from the removal..i survived that surgery and now its time for my teeth to be taken care of... actually all but 3 to be slated for removal. I can't afford temps so ill be toothless for several months. I have no regrets...my mouth hurts Now😢 Have you heard about the boil and bite sets? My insurance only covers one set.

My teeth were all removed 6 months ago. I couldn't look in the mirror. I've been practicing not being so egotistical about it . I don't think people knew that i didn't have teeth but that i only had a lisp. I just got dentures a week ago. Top fits well but my gums were sore from putting them in and taking them out that one day plus the new pressure on my gums. Bottoms float. I gave myself 4 days before i tried again. Today i used ambesol to numb upper gums and adhesive on top and bottom. They have been surprisingly comfortable thus far. I've been practicing speech by singing and talking. It's getting better. I am reluctant to eat due to bottoms might float but i won't starve. I have soft foods. It's getting better. I think it'll be just fine eventually. I thank you for your video.

I feel that the "dentist of 35 years " below has clearly forgotten that not all tooth loss is down to decay,but can also be due to certain autoimmune diseases where the bone (tooth) actually crumbles,bit by bit, and because thetes not much to grab when extraction becomrs necessary,surgical removal is always needed.This is painful and upsetting for the patient who has always looked after their teeth. In my own case,some very poor dentistry involving over drilling for nothing more than discolouration,resulted in a bridge and 2 crowns,right at the front.And so, when that crown/bridge got older, I had a lovely big gap at the front through no fault of my own.So please remember, not all restorative work is due to poor dental care!
