Just wanted to say man thx for the easy to follow video, me and my cusion just did this today with ease. took us maybe about an hour taking our sweet time. It looks way more complicated then it was.

I think I'm having this same issue. I have a 1994 NA, I'm wondering if the adapter cap that wasn't sealed properly in your video is the same for all 300zx's? You mentioned how it used to be old style injector, could you elaborate on that?
@MrJett-xx6om13 сағат бұрын
I believe my fuel rail is all OEM, I have the same fuel injector problem with cylinder 4, it's dumping gas in the engine
@fixitish3 сағат бұрын
@@MrJett-xx6om they aren’t all the same only the older style fuel rail. 90-92 is the old style(square connector) 93+ is the updated or new style(oval connector) If you have the old style and want to upgrade to the new style injectors you need those adapters. Since your car is a 94 it more then likely has the new style. If that’s the case then you wouldn’t need the adapter kit. This car had the older style fuel rail that’s why it has that injector adapter kit
@fixitish3 сағат бұрын
@@MrJett-xx6om so if it has the adapter kit or not if the injector orings go bad it can leak or when they are installed incorrectly they will get pinched and cause a leak. If you think yours is having a similar issue. You can do the same thing I did in the video to test if they are leaking.

For the upper control arm in the front, my is300 has camber & i want to uncamber it so the tires don’t bald easily. Do i replace the upper control arm to uncamber it or do i just raise the car up?
@fixitish3 сағат бұрын
@@Imjesus26 you can raise the car up and it will fix it but if you wanna keep it lowered then you’ll need adjustable front upper control arms

There are three 14mm bolts on the Power Steering Pump. One at the bottom towards the wheel well. That holds on the electrical harness. Then, there are two at the top behind the pulley. The one closest to the wheel well can be accessed, as you say, using a deep wall 14mm socket through a hole in the pulley. The second bolt cannot be accessed through a hole on the pulley, because it doesn't line up with a hole on the pulley. It is located too close to the inside edge of the circumference of pulley. You also can't get an open end wrench on it because of the angle or a boxed in wrench because it's too thick and the pulley edge is too close to the head of the bolt. I can typically do every job there is to do, but the way Toyota designed the power steering pump to mount is just ludicrous. I have seen other KZbin videos of people grinding/cutting the bolt between the pump and the mount, but I am not doing that. I am going to have to hire a mechanic. 😢
@fixitish4 күн бұрын
@@ckenisell sorry to hear that. I was able to get to all the bolts without cutting anything but I did accidentally take off a bolt that holds the power steering pump together. Maybe that’s what happened? I do agree they made this way harder than it needed to be.

Yo Bro. Listen, You are definitely free to do whatever as far as how n what kind parts you buy to fix ur car. But having a bimmer, you should al least get an oem parts. I do buy all my parts from Fcp Euro that comes with lifetime replacement warranty. In other words, you only buy once whatever part you buy n you may not know. When you buy aftermarket parts for German cars, they aren’t compatible n you will replace again very soon. Take it ez! Peace out!

If you are able to plan this, time it with an oil change and do it with the oil filter out. It makes for a bit more space and has to be done anyway

I’ve done a lot of work on my Z’s but never a complete engine tear down. Concerning the in and out play on the crank; that might be because the harmonic balancer is not in place. I think it has or acts like a thrust washer that keeps the crank play down to a minimum. BTW the Traxxas is cool. I’ve got the XO-1 that I have never ran since it’s too fast. I also have an ARRMA Outcast 4S. I got them both used during the Pandemic when I had more time. I found V it’s almost more fun tearing them apart and upgrading or fixing than running them (probably because I never make time to take them out somewhere good to run them hard).

I believe my alternator went out but I’m not 100% sure. Is there any other way to check besides checking voltage?
@fixitish4 ай бұрын
@@cichfish7525 if you have a voltmeter I usually check the voltage at the battery when the truck is running. Then I check for battery voltage at the positive terminal on the back of the alternator with the truck off. If I have voltage there but it’s not charging it’s usually just a bad alternator. There’s other tests you can do but this has always worked for me. Way back in the day with older cars you were able to remove the negative battery terminal to test an alternator but you don’t wanna do that with this truck. It worked with older cars since they didn’t have much electronics on them
