First context I heard of iron mans was like 10 years ago in smash bros: www.ssbwiki.com/Ironman And it's pretty much exactly this format, first person to score a win with every character. But yeah I've definitely seen it in other contexts (e.g. as you describe in Fire Emblem), and the term basically refers to a hard marathon challenge in a game. @krztix it's not 1 game with each color, it's 1 win with each color.

Score is based on total power spent, from all sources. Repairs, spawning units, building orbs, etc. Units dying don't change the score, because you don't spend power when units die. Bigger leftover army usually has lower score because bigger army tends to (1) trade better and (2) get less void refund, so they have less power to play. However, it's important to keep track. A common "mistake" is that you play 3 extra units in t1, but you aren't in a position to get value out of them. So then I t2, you follow me t2, and your score is 150 higher than mine simply because I have 150 extra power I'm waiting to spend on t2 units. You wouldn't start getting that power back until your t1 units died. One balancing act is that you don't want to win t1 "too much." Frost and nature especially have this problem. They have enough units to kill my well so I stop spawning, but they keep spawning 2-3 extra units. Now that's 150+ power, so I can go t2, and you are stuck with a bunch of t2 units that I'll easily trade against. Whereas if you didn't spend that redundant 150 power, you could also t2 at same time as me, and we've overall spent the same power (I'd still have more tempo because it's coming back in the void, but in the worst case you could kill all your units yourself if you're so worried about tempo). Another common situation is that when you attack someone, you spend a lot of your power hitting the well, and they spend power repairing the well during cc or something. In this case, 100% of their power returns to the void, but they also tend to make worse trades, so they end up with a much higher score. This is why you typically want to use your tempo trading efficiently, and not target the well until you're sure it's going down.
