Great explanation but i have a question, What if there are more than 2 stationary points, suppose i have to find maxima and i get three values of x for which first derivative is equal to zero, and for two values of x, second derivative is negative. Then how do i find on which value of x would there be maxima? Do i have to put both of these value in original function to check which one gives greater value, or is there any other way to know?

Hi. You can have multiple maxima and minima. When we say "maxima" we are talking about a localised maximum point rather than the maximum for the entire function/graph. So the maxima is just where the graph reachs a peak then comes back down again but this could happen multiple times. E.g. the sin/cos graphs have infinitely many maxima and minima.

for 7 i didnt work out the nth term i just did 327+7x and checked with my calculator the first value for x to give me a number greater than 1000 which was 97 so i did 50+97=147

Can you use the discriminant for 18? I tried it but got a <+ or - 3 and didnt know how to go from there

Yes you can. You cannot quite finish like that though. When you get a^2 < 9 you should do a^2 - 9 < 0 then solve similar to how I did in the video using (a + 3)(a - 3) < 0 giving -3 < a < 3 still.

Thank you so much for your efforts; I've used all your maths resources and not one hasn't been useful whatsoever. Sometimes I think to myself "Whats the higher and lower bound of the total time it took to create all of these resources?" But regardless, this will not be the last time I use 1st Class Maths - I'm doing maths at A-Level of course! Thank you so much I really appreciate this and it is very kind. You are indeed right it has taken a huge amount of time but I enjoy it (for the most part, animating the video is the most boring bit). I will try and get onto some A level content over the next 2 years to help. Best of luck tomorrow.
