I feel like a port of this game with better controls (at least not motion controls) could be received very well, even if only for the nostalgia factor

So sega created a game where a character could glide, climb walls and punch through walls in 1994. 23 years later Nintendo did the same with breath of the wild and people applauded it calling it a game changer, wow. I’m not going to lie, this game was probably overshadowed by the Saturn and the release of play station which was 2 months after this game came out.

Shadow appeals to folks who really had to “grow up” fast due to the lost of a loved one. Sonic couldn’t do that for us because he never really went through anything Shadow did. The character is definitely more developed than Sonic, but I respect our opinion about him. The game is nostalgic, but not worth defending 🤣 I’m glad I deleted my previous comment, and am sitting here in 2025 after Shadow carried a year of content beautifully. Shadow generations is the best Sonic game to come out in years, Sonic 3 humbled Disney, and Shadow is finally getting the respect of the fandom as a whole. Edit: Also, hilariously enough, the Year of Shadow eclipsed the Year of Sonic 🤣

I don't think necessarily everyone would just grow out of games, particularly "kids" games...how many guys still love Looney Tunes, Tom & Jerry, SpongeBob, etc, openly, and if it's OK to like that it's also OK to love Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong and Sonic...and even alongside stuff like GTA, Call of Duty, etc.

The rude scumbag employees all should've got reported and lost their jobs...and not like they were avoidable being shopping online was a relatively new concept and a lot of people didn't trust it.

Sonic jam, Nights into dreams, lost world Jurassic park. I never understood at the time why I could never find any games for it at media play. I completely forgot about this game. I loved all the obscure content from Japan. It was probably the last time I played a sonic game till they came out on the switch. Kinda sad if I think about it actually.

Ummmm.... No. S&K is most definitely not the Hardest. Sonic 1 is much harder. Hell I'd even say Sonic 2 was harder. Id say it was one of the easier ones honestly. You might feel this way specifically because you were so young & unskilled when you first played it, & thus probably remembered struggling a lot.

This game tried to write Shadow like all the parodies of his character, and feels like it was written by somebody who really hated him.

I loved the game. I still own it. Spolier. She was infected on purpose by the Federation. She was sent there on purpose when they discovered life was mutating. The whole station is a weapons test, and you are the new weapon being tested. That's why I felt you are lead around by the nose the whole time.

I really dont think this is meant to be "Sonic in the real world" despite you insisting it is. Its more "Sonic in a high fantasy world" It just makes all the "Wow, the princess isnt dressed like a princess in the real world!" "WOW, this cutscene is more Final Fantasy than irl" complaints really weird. Like.. duh. The designs are fantasy based, no one said it was trying to be our world.

I actually think it's okay

It's very interesting to me how much similarity there is between this game and Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. But they were released so close to each other I truly think the sea chart exploration and mini games were things that Sega came up with on their own and then realized Nintendo had just done the same thing and released it a couple of months ahead of Rush Adventure

Sonic 3 was by far my favorite. Peak sonic game if you ask me. Sonic 1’s first stage music though is probably best in series. But drives me bonkers you can speed dash. Sonic 2 and Knuckles were fine games. No issues with either. I may give the edge to Knuckles just cuz it looks like sonic 3 and jumping on the mushrooms is pretty fun. Sonic 2’s sound track is better by far.
