I've been using this application in my theater room and I appreciate all of your hard work that you put into it. It's fantastic! I do have a question, however. When I put JPEG files in the Media Store folder and then go into the web remote poster cache to manually add my custom posters nothing shows up in "Media Store." What am I doing wrong?

Hi Dane great video Im having problems by the plugin options I use plex but get the error connection failed Please verify your setting for server address are they referring to device IP address as server port is already populated with the server port number. hope you can help as what you created is aswesome.

Or I could just take screen shots of a movie poster. I don't need to waste my time with tome showing. I'd play a sad trombone, if I had one. (I'm not going through all that crap.) Or use backlit film or an SD card with a portrait garbage 4KTV. [Burying cables in the wall and dealing with programs = No]

Once I get my theater room Set up I’m buying this. I was reading about it and there’s no way to have just the poster full screen without the coming soon and info in the bottom? If so, do you plan to add a full screen mode?

The issue is that posters are not the same aspect ratio as a TV. The header and footer areas are not covering any part of the poster image. TVs are a 16:9 ratio, posters are almost always 3:2, this means that the poster will never fill the entire screen unless it is cropped or stretched to fit. Personally, I thinks those are both poor options. I am currently implementing options to not display the various visual elements, such as the headers and metadata info. However, this wont make posters magically fill the screen unless an image of the correct proportions is used. I've played with stretching and cropping options, but it really doesn't work very well. You end up with things like circles that aren't round anymore, or text cut off the screen. I may include those options in the future. But again, the best choice is to use images that are he right ratio for a TV, which means you'll need to manually set those yourself for each poster.

pretty cool app - I messed with it today but when I print, I don't get the options dialog box. It just takes me to the print screen. Did something change?

You should be able to, yes. I typically recommend using Chrome to access the WebRemote, but Safari should work too.

Its an interesting app but but it would make sense if conected to kodi or plex it would scan the library and change the banners from “coming soon” to maybe “available”

That is planned for a future release. It will use the "Featuring" banner and have options to have different banners per plugin. So you could have "featuring on Plex" and "Featuring on Kodi"

Dont use KODI or PLEX to play movies. 99% movies are played from Netflix, Disney+, Prime. How to enable now playing for streaming service

Im a little confused. Am I to assume each of these groups are going to a separate TV/Monitor? If so is it being dont by hdmi? and what PC you using? I guess question is how you connecting so many TV/Monitors to one PC?

Is the movie poster app not working anymore? Everyone I open the app, I don't get anything. Just the registration screen and the app is running but I can't find it on my screen. I see it at the bottom in the task bar, but not on my screen. I click the task bar and nothing happens

It sounds like you might need to check the display configuration. You can access the settings by right clicking on the Movieposter icon in the system tray and adjust settings as needed.

@@greatdanecinema hey I figured it out. I had to right click where the tab was and select move. Then with the keyboard I hit the arrows to move it. For some reason it was in between screens and I couldn't see or grab it. Works great now

I know I'm late to the party but cool setup. I have a few questions. Id like to do something like this but I don't have a spare computer and want something with low power consumption. I do have several spare phones laying around. Is this operated by a phone or a computer? I was gonna do the usb hack but everytime I turn off the TV, I have to reload it which is a pain. Id like to just turn on the TV and it be rolling thru posters. Thanks

I've got it linked to Plex and now plaing says the correct movie but it's not displaying the poster just the Gread Dane Cinema one. If I turn off the projector then it displays normal "Coming Soon" posters. Any suggestions? I don't have plex pass and I haven't paid for the Poster program yet. I want to be sure it works before I do.

My port is different than 32400 and every time I test it it fails and says there's nothing playing at IP:32400 even though I have the port set to something else.

Ok, I've seen 2 videos on how to do this. One random guy, and your video. I'm not stupid when it comes to computers lol. I know what I'm doing. But I can't get my movie poster to connect to Plex. My IP address is correct. My Port is correct. My Device names is correct. But the connection ALWAYS fails!!! Is there another possible reason why it won't connect? Again, my IP address is correct, my Port is correct and my Device name is correct. Active boxes are checked also. Please help!!

I absolutely Love this Program! I found your videos after years of tweaking and changing my Movieposter configuration. i have changed the backgound, but, when it plays, i am using an image that is black and Purple, but, the screen when coming soon is on uses what looks to be the standard clue/black back ground. What did I miss? i even uploaded and renamed background1 to what looks to be the culprit image. any ideas? Thanks again for an amazing program, Long time Subscribed MoviePoster Member! - Chip
